Saturn, when approached with great humility can be utilized as one's best friend through one's own personal self-discipline in the natal place (birth place) in one's chart.
Saturn shows us where it is that we must embrace personal inner discipline to be successful beyond our widest dreams.
Within we know and understand that we must utilize moderation in all things and live within our means to really have successful accomplishments. The planetary aspects to one's personal natal Saturn are the key to assist one to embrace this inner source of strength, and accept it as one's disciplinary path, that is real maturity.
"The price," and "The reward," are synonymous.
For me, "the price," of Saturn in Leo was that I could not speculate, and if I had children I would have problems with them. Therefore I chose the alternative of living below my means and not having children. The polarity of Aquarius in my second house of resources and how I made money and what I shared with others directly affected my finances. Therefore, I had to live within these limitations and accept them, I chose non-desire. I knew what I would like, kept it in mind, and time would bring the right situation wherein I could afford what it was that I wanted, without undue excesses.
Saturn requires long, disciplined service, and it is through this particular aspect of saving any money I could and initially paying off all debt except the mortgage of my home and the mortgage of a rental property, and parlaying rental monies into various long-term investments, that assisted me as a baby boomer to emerge into an early retirement to simply be a "resources manager," and to create "wealth preservation," through great self-discipline and persoal humility, not allowing myself to be tempted by the temptations of the times and by the world. The greatness of Saturn's inner powers of disciplined hard work in creating my own wealth preservation, assisted me to be a sovereign in my own terms.
The mythos of this book is to assist each of us to embrace our inner powers and utilize them to their greatest effects. But, one must spend time with the mythos and learn to utilize one's inner eye to see how best one can utilize humility and self-discipline to win one's personal game while helping others in the process!!!!!

It was interesting and helpful in many ways - part of the book is a quite wise description of what Western (and most other) societies have lost as a result of our loss of core myths, and the end is an excellent and very understandable basic explanation of Indian Vedic traditions. He is an extremely good and concise writer, and also important, comes across as a sympathetic person.
As for the actual story that forms the middle of the book, the first time you read it, it might feel a little foreign and flat, filled with confusing genealogies and tales of limbs being cut off and turning into children, various deities' adulteries, kings being cursed by angry planets, that sort of thing. To the Western eye it just doesn't make a lot of sense or seem too compelling, honestly. But as he tries to explain throughout the book - it's not about the words you're reading. It's something deep and esoteric contained within, that can't be accessed with a casual read.
If you follow the advice he gives in the section on how to read the book itself and various remedies - even just a bit of it - the stories take on a kind of resonance completely beyond the words themselves. I found in the weeks I was reading it that in fact, I was actually in some abstract way living out the myth, and gained a profound new way to view events ongoing in my life, especially the deeply negative ones. To borrow a word from Heinlein, I 'grok' something about the world that I didn't before, an understanding that goes beyond the intellectual and genuinely transforms the core of your being.
I can't stress enough how much synchronicity and weird commonality this book had to my life at the moment and how it appeared, in a totally unrelated search, at the absolute perfect time. Based on my own experiences, I suggest that if you've come across this book in a similar fashion you really ought to consider if it found you on purpose. I know it did for me.
