I totally enjoyed this story about love, forgiveness and the importance of have God in our lives. I found the pace of the plot line moved along very nicely, and kept me focused. I also appreciated the romance and love story- it was clean, believable and heartfelt. I just wish the book as a whole was longer.

The Builder’s Reluctant Bride warms your heart with its tale of two people finding their way back to each other. Stacey Weeks draws you into the lives of William and Jenna as they discover true love and she beckons you into a deeper relationship with the One whose love is never-ending. Sound theology mixes with the tension of internal struggles and the ironies of life to create a captivating and refreshing story.

This was the first book I have read by Stacey Weeks and it was a winner. She packed several of my favorite things into this book: romance, fixer-upper shows, and high school sweetheart reunions. Weeks shows us how scars from high school can carry into adulthood and Jenna carries the hurt of betrayal from her boyfriend long past graduation. William, "Bill," has changed and become a new man focused on God. He still regrets the prank he played on Jenna and hopes at a second chance at love when they do a reality fixer-upper show together. Can Jenna overlook the past and rediscover the man that Willian has become? Buckle up for this fun story.

Reunions aren’t always what they’re cracked up to be. A decade should have healed all the hurt, but once Jenna sees William, the former high school love who crushed nearly everything about her in a senior joke gone horribly wrong, it’s like reliving the whole nightmare over again. Compounded by a gruesome marriage in between, Jenna can’t seem to catch a break. Sure, she’s grown up and successful, even finally well-put-together enough to rival the former cheerleading crew who gave her grief in high school, but the victory is hollow considering the changes that have occurred in her hometown during her absence.

A boost to get her interior decorating column in national syndication drives her home to help renovate a church. On television, no less, as the builder is trying out for a reality show. Her job is the inside. And to work with the building contractor who turns out to be none other than the young man from the disastrous high school prom night now turned into a real home town hero. The ten-year cushion may have helped them step back and put their lives into perspective, but accident on accident, misunderstandings, false pride, and a potential health crisis will most likely derail any possible romantic chance they might have had unless they can slow down and really listen to each other.

Beautifully written well-developed characters and story lines drive this lovely story of getting past some really bad choices and learning how to be gracious and forgive. These people have a long way to go by story’s end. They’re not perfect, though they have a conscience and will get there. I appreciate a good tale that doesn’t sugarcoat everything. Told through the two main character’s perspectives, I occasionally felt like I was missing something when I realized time had elapsed between the opposing narrator, but that’s natural and real. Those who enjoy highly inspiration elements in a romance between hard-bitten and twice-shy people will find a lot to love about this contemporary romance set in Michigan.

Full of romance, ex-loves, building restoration, and more, this book has a lot to offer. It shows how forgiveness can be important, and second chances are sometimes worth fighting for in the long run.

William and Jenna were both characters I enjoyed getting to know. Time can change a person, but it takes the opportunity to show that change to prove the point. It also illustrates what an important role God can play in our lives.

The storyline is one that moves along at a good speed with a Biblical point. Jenna’s past with William provides an interesting perspective for the story. So check out this story for yourself. I definitely recommend reading it.

I received a copy of it for my fair and honest review.

Jenna is back in her home town to help with the rebuilding of the church she just never expected who her new partner was going to be. William could not believe that she is back and he wanted a second chance at her. However she came back broken and he needs to convince her to trust him. Can they work together or will it just be to much and send Jenna running again?
I have never read anything by Ms. Weeks so I wasn't sure what to expect with this book but it caught my attention and so what did I have to loose. I will say I was not disappointed this book was so good. I loved the sweet story and the powerful healing and seeking in the book. The author held nothing back it discussed some very tough subjects. I loved how this book was a good clean read, I also enjoyed that it seemed to flow and there was not lacking of slow points in it. Such fun characters and such closeness in a small town. This book is a quick read and well worth it. If you are looking for a fun read this book will not disappoint.

I just finished reading this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The storyline was great. I had a hard time putting it down. The characters seemed so likeable and I could feel their pain at times. The gospel was clearly presented. I hope Stacey keeps writing.
