Bonds of Valor (Libri Valoris Book 4) Kindle Edition
The Black Company deals with something fishy.
Deathmages, space mages, and forgotten magic.
It’s all here in fourteen stories of valor, heroism, and bonds that tie folk together, for good or ill. There are bonds of love, oaths to gods, and life-long friends.
Will the old, crusty worn-out veteran find his new partner just might be something? Will the knight learn humility from those who serve him? Will Indrajit and Fix restore the path of true love?
Or will the bonds between characters break under the pressure of evil wizards, ancient enemies, or massive dragons?
Come find out.

He is one of the founders of the Eldros Legacy (eldroslegacy.com/) and an author in the Four Horsemen Universe (mercenaryguild.org). He writes primarily epic fantasy, space opera, military science fiction, and alternate history.
He is a reformed medieval academic, a former IT professional, and a retired soda jerk.
His parents discovered quickly books were the only way to keep Rob quiet. He latched onto the Hardy Boys series first and then anything he could reach. Without books, it’s unlikely all three would have survived.

Don't miss out on his military SF trilogy, SALVAGE TITLE-- Everyone is familiar with salvage titles on old vehicles...But on a warship? Sometimes the system is against you, but there is always a loophole...you just have to find it. Harmon Tomeral and his crew make things happen, especially when there is no other choice.
The entire Salvage Title Trilogy is available and all three have audible versions. KC Johnston does a great job as the narrator.

Casey Moores was an Air Force Academy graduate and rescue/special ops C-130 pilot for over 17 years- airdropping, air refueling, and flying into tiny blacked-out dirt airstrips in bad places using night vision goggles. He’s been to those places and done those things with those people. Now he lives a quieter life, translating those experiences to military science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, and post-apocalyptic fiction. With seven novels and over twenty published short stories, his biggest challenge is focusing on any one genre. Or focusing on anything at all, really.
Casey is the winner of the Imaginarium Imadjinn Awards Best Historical Fiction for Witch Hunt, a story about monster hunting marines in the Civil War from Three Ravens Publishing’s JTF-13 series. The prequel story, “Blood Sacrifice”, was published in the Helicon award-winning JTF-13 Legends anthology.
For Chris Kennedy Publishing, he has written in the Four Horsemen universe with numerous nov-els and short stories, primarily about Bull and his black ops rescue company. He also has a novel, The Guilted Cage, set in the Fallen World universe at his alma mater, the Air Force Academy, as well as short stories in the Fallen World and Salvage System universes.
Finally, he has numerous stories out in his Deathmage War fantasy series, two of which—“A Quaint Pastime” and “The Unwanted Legion”—were finalists in the annual FantaSci fantasy story contest.
He is currently developing the Blood & Armor series, a near future military science fiction series with Bill Fawcett.
Justin was born in Galveston, TX and raised in the Houston area. In middle school, he fell in love with two life-long pursuits: space and writing. He knew he wanted to work at NASA and write science fiction/fantasy on the side, and lo and behold, that’s exactly what he ended up doing.
He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, and an M.S. in Systems Engineering. He now works for Barrios Technology as a project engineer for the next NASA space station, the Gateway, after previously working on commercial avionics, International Space Station (ISS) flight and manifest planning, and ISS research planning. He lives in the Houston area with his wife, daughters, and various small mammals.

Fiona Grey wanders through stories at https://fionagreywrites.com with an amazing husband and Writing Cat. After years of technical writing and editing, her creative brain escaped into the wild, likely as a consequence of severe overeducation. She enjoys thinking nonlinearly and introversion. Other people claim this is “weird,” which is unsubstantiated.

The stories are solid, most from, not new writers in the field but ones that have had far less exposure than they should. Sarah Hoyt is the only other name I recognized offhand but I remembered others as I read their work.
Only one complaint about the book, the editing is a little weird with double (maybe triple?) spacing between lines and huge margins. No big deal but seems like some pagecount (and overall size) could have been saved by doing something more traditional.
Overall, I recommend it to fantasy readers new and old. Read it, find a story you like, track down the author's other works.
What made this one so good is holding on to friendships is an experience we all have. When stess hits us. Or when there is something going on and we have to choose the right thing even if it costs that friendship.
Valor and being brave without friends. I've been there. And wouldn't have it any other way.
