Les was born in London, England in 1930. He, and his wife Joyce, immigrated to Ontario, Can-ada in 1965 where they raised their family in the scenic Hockley Valley.

Les was always a gifted storyteller who entertained family and friends regularly with his embel-lished versions of classic fairy tales and a host of made up words that he used to make every day conversation more colourful.

His first novel became a labour of love during his retirement years and was nearing completion when he suffered a serious stroke which robbed him of his wonderful communication skills. Happily with the help of his family, the original version, The Fo’c’s’le Door, was published in 2013 and he was able to hold a copy in his hands prior to his death in 2016.

It is a long and captivating mystery involving adventures in smuggling, murder and the super-natural and met with great reviews from those who read it.

The Ryeport Redemption is a republication by his family of the original novel, with the help of a new publisher, in order to give this wonderful adventure the recognition it deserves. It is an opportunity for them to complete this part of his legacy and share their Dad’s imagination and story telling skills with the world in honour of his memory.
