I have read my share of books as of late, romance, zombie, historical... you name it. I have seen this book title/cover before while searching for the next good book to fire up the kindle with. I had read the reviews and even added it to my "to read" list but never made it to the point of actual purchase. WHAT A MISTAKE. If I wasn't so hesitant about buying low priced books and getting low quality at the same time, I might have actually bought this sooner. I saw that the 2nd book had been released and noticed a temporary price reduction for "Belong to you." I thought what the hell why not? So I bought it (late in the evening mind you). Once I started this book I just couldn't stop. I found myself up way past my bedtime. I read on my lunch break at work, and when I got out of work... I sat in my car for at least fifteen minutes reading the next smidgen I could get before I went home! How ridiculous! When I read the description about this book, I originally thought it was based around cheating. I am not a big fan of that Even wen it's fictional. Let me first throw out that the main characters in this book are not cheats nor is their any cheating between the two of them at all. That said... I LOVED this book.
Jack and Syd are wonderful people. Or so I felt. I loved that Jack was strong, sexy, respectful, and bossy! Not bossy to the point where you are wondering what is wrong with the h. He has logical responses to almost everything and I like that he respected Syd all the while being completely inappropriate ;) Syd has just had her heart broken and takes her bff on her was "supposed-to-be" honeymoon. What a fun way to start the book. I loved her bff Si! So fun and quirky it makes you actually LOL at some of their banter. The angst in this book is real! Not far fetched scarred people who have been abused or demoralized. They both had/have real life issues that happen in everyday life! I a see how this story could be relatable to some readers. I have to say I am a sucker for a sexy hunk of man who seems to be wealthy, sexy and complete brute force. Did I mention SEXY? Gosh darn it think I have a new book boyfriend. >SIGH<
Since I can't seem to think of what I didn't like about this book I will go in on my favorite parts!
Holy hotness batman this book was steamy! I would classify this book as being erotic whereas some of the most recent adult romance books I've read portray erotic content that I could classify as young adult. I was happy to have a book with a wonderful plot that kept me just as interested as the sex scenes. Yes the sexy scenes are HOT! Wonderfully written however not overdone but still lengthy enough to have you fanning your face! I appreciated how Vi made Jack a H that can be realistically fantasized about. H/h in this book were awesome together and had wonderful chemistry!
There WAS one small twist in this book that I didn't really see coming (normally I can pin point them ahead of time) and I have to say I find the twist intriguing and can't wait to see how it all plays out!
Warning, there is a slight cliffhanger but not the kind that leaves you frantically pressing the page button on your kindle (although I tried - hey! no judgment here) The cliffhanger was just enough to be a tease to make me oh so thankful that the 2nd installment was already released. (annnnd this is where I slightly thank my inner book snobby-ness for overlooking this book so many times).
All in all I give a big round of applause for Vi Keeland for writing something that kept me interested all the way through. Not a boring or dragged out part in the book for me. I am happy to say that I have after reading just this one book by her added her to my must read list. I have already managed to purchase the 2nd installment "Made For You" and only didn't start it so I could get this review done ASAP! This is only the second book I have ever written a review for and I apologize if it has been scattered but I am too excited to start the 2nd!!!
Please don't be a book snob like I had been (by scrolling past multiple times) and make this purchase! You will not regret it! Wonderful story I will be recommending this as a must read to many!
