From the Inside Flap

The Magic Tree House whisks Jack and Annie back to Colonial America. They arrive just as General george Washington is planning the crossing of the Delaware. Before they know it, Jack and Annie are in a boat with the Father of Our Country as history is made! --This text refers to the paperback edition.

Amazon.com Review

If it's Wednesday, it must be Revolutionary War day. Jack and Annie, stars of the Magic Tree House series, are in for another adventure in their time- and space-traveling tree house. Mysterious magical librarian Morgan le Fay has set four new tasks for the siblings. Jack and Annie must find four special kinds of writing for Morgan's library in order to save Camelot, the ancient kingdom of King Arthur. In Civil War on Sunday, the pair traveled back to the 1860s to collect a list of rules ("something to follow") from famous nurse Clara Barton. Now they discover they must visit another war era: the Revolutionary War. Jack and Annie set aside their apprehension and soon they're spinning back through time to Christmas Day, 1776, on the banks of the Delaware River in Pennsylvania, where they encounter none other than the man on the dollar bill himself, George Washington! The children accidentally-on-purpose end up embroiled in the famous commander-in-chief's mission, where they not only play a part in convincing Washington to carry on with his patriotic duty, but also find the second kind of writing for Morgan's library: "something to send."

Award-winning author Mary Pope Osborne's young adventure series, The Magic Tree House, is immensely popular among children and teachers alike, promoting a fascination with history--and reading--no textbook can match. (Ages 6 to 9) --Emilie Coulter

Revolutionary War On Wednesday (Magic Tree House 22, paper) This book was a great way to introduce our daughter to the American Revolution. While she completed it within a few hours, I would highly recommend it along with  American Revolution: A Companion to the Revolutionary War on Wednesday (Magic Tree House Rsrch Gdes(R)) To start studies for homeschoolers, or to have a great set of books that help explain Why the American Revolution began. The resource guide has the true facts of the Revolution and is something we returned to several times throughout our studies.
And at the price it definitely was an added bonus!

I bought this for my grandson. These books are easy to read for new readers. He was playing video games and they started reading this book series (Magic Tree House) in school. I was doing genealogy work on my family and discovered my 4 times Great-Grandfather was in the militia or German Regiment all of the war and before that, so I was able to set up a frame of reference for this book! We read it together.

This was a request on a "Christmas in July" tree for a private school. Bought it for them. Can't really offer much else. Thanks!

I'm a special education teacher at the elementary school level. I have a small reading group of third and fourth graders who, at around Thanksgiving, had just finished up James and the Giant Peach (which they loved - and I loved as a kid as well). They were actually excited to read it every day, so I was hoping to find a great book or series that we could follow that up with.

My seventeen-year old son actually recommended the Magic Treehouse series to me (I'd seen it around/heard of it but never read it or used it in my classes before), and we started with this one on the Revolutionary War.

They enjoyed the book, and of course, it opened the door to have conversations about history as well, which is great. We're about to start our third Magic Treehouse book (about Jackie Robinson) next week.

I've been teaching virtually since last March, so I've been buying the Kindle versions and sharing my screen with the students. It works great.

I bought this for my girlfriend's son because I got tired of he and his older sister not knowing anything about history. I figured that I would start him off with the Magic Tree House books because I have read some other books in this series and he loves them. He ended up loving this book and the companion book so much that I am now on the lookout for more books like this.

Thank you Mary Pope Osborne for helping me to help the kids learn about history in a really fun way.
