I needed a Composite to HDMI video converter so that I could retire my old Sony Trinitron CRT monitor. I also wanted good quality video to be displayed in a 4:3 aspect ratio. This converter is exactly what I was looking for. At first I thought that I had a bad converter, but with great technical support I was able to get the issue resolved. Make sure that you set the video input of the device to match what you are using. The LEDs on the unit display the programmed video input setting, which may not necessarily be the type of video signal that that you have connected to the input of the converter. I thought that the unit auto-sensed whatever video input you are using. The video input setting is listed under the Output Setup menu. This is a quality product and I happy that I purchased it!

So after i red the reviews i decided to get one. Not happy at all. First it is an incomplete unit. No audio, for a$189.00 unit? Can FANCO look at the competitors units? There is a similar unit here at Amazon, that i got for $90.00, and has audio inputs and is also a 4k upscaler and peforms identical. Picture quality is not that great, it is OK. Remember, i had this compared with two other units, a 4k upscaler and a regular converter. I am using a Pioneer dvd recorder/player with component video out, and a 2k Panasonic 55" Tv. This unit is not user friendly and DOES NOT WORK STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX WITHOUT playing with the settings, not like the other two much less expensive units. So if you want to use your dvd with it, you need a receiver to play the sound. Over all i do not recommend this unit. No worth the price tag. No better than a $18.00 UNIT WITHOUT AUDIO input.
