From the Back Cover

The Texas Gulf coast is famous for its fresh seafood, clean water, fun-filled resorts, desolate beaches―and its world-class fishing. Between Sabine Pass near the Louisiana border and Boca Chica at the mouth of the Rio Grande, more than two dozen major species of fish can be found in coastal rivers, bays and bayous, and surf, as well as offshore. Fishing the Texas Gulf Coast provides all the information needed to fish this 350-mile stretch with success, whether angling inshore for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder or seeking kingfish, cobia, and bluewater big game offshore. Local fishing captain Mike Holmes describes more than 100 of the best places to cast a line, from the species found at each location to specific information on access, regulations, and record. In addition to detailed maps and photos, he explains how hurricanes have shaped the topography of some prime angling areas and shares proven tips on lures, flies, bait, tackle, and techniques.

This is a great read, especially for someone new to the Gulf Coast fishing world, but it is a little out dated. Some of the spots to fish at no longer exist or have changed. Still would recommend this book to anyone new to fishing on the gulf. This book includes the coast and bays of Texas.

It provides multiple techniques and places to go no matter if you're in a boat or waders. Definitely ups the chances of any fisherman. Only thing else you need is the current fishing reports from the internet.

I found a few new spots I have never fished from reading this book. It only gives brief descriptions of the spots because there are so many so don't expect GPS coordinates of the honey holes.

The description of this book led me to believe it would provide fishing information for neophyte inshore anglers like myself. I would be better served by simply getting a map.

Very informative, and detailed about access to different fishing areas. Would work well with a large detail
map such as Hook and Line.
