My Banjo Buddy: The Banjo players companion for keys, chords and scales for the G tuned Banjo (My Buddy for keys, chords and scales Book 2) Kindle Edition

5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 1 rating

My Banjo Buddy is designed to be a companion for the banjo player who has already familiarized themselves with the banjo. The book is written for the G tuned banjo. A music teacher can also use My Banjo Buddy to teach their students music theory without having to find all the information themselves. The content of this book is to help the banjo player advance their improvisational skills. My Banjo Buddy is formatted as a quick reference in learning keys, chords, scales, and progressions for the banjo player.

There is no tablature in this book, because tablature does not help an instrumentalist understand the theory of music. This book also does not teach according to fret location. All references are in relation to note location. Knowing the note location on the fretboard is important in order to advance on an instrument. If someone says “play C major,” the instrumentalist should be able to easily go to C on the fretboard and play the chord. If someone says to “play a I – IV – V chord progression,” the instrumentalist should be able to play the chord progression without looking at a huge poster of chords or scales.
My Banjo Buddy is designed to advance a banjo player to that skill level.
