About the authors
Josh Clark has been writing since childhood, but An Incomplete Compendium is his first book. In 2008, he transitioned from writing for a living to speaking when he started making podcasts, including the long-running Stuff You Should Know and his ten-part series The End of the World. He’s enjoyed being back to writing.
When he’s not working, Josh likes to do things that have nothing to do with deadlines or computers – riding bikes with his wife Umi and their daughter with four legs, Momo; working outdoors, digging and chopping and the like; and mixing up world-class cocktails.
Josh’s home is wherever Umi and Momo are, mostly between Florida’s Space Coast and Atlanta.
NILS PARKER is an editor and writer. He he has worked closely with a variety of authors on the conceptualization and creation of numerous bestselling books in the humor, memoir, inspirational self-help and business spaces--including Tucker Max's genre-defining fratire series, James Altucher's seminal work CHOOSE YOURSELF, Ryan Holiday's THE OBSTACLE IS THE WAY and EGO IS THE ENEMY, Lewis Howes' THE SCHOOL OF GREATNESS, GloZell Green's IS YOU OKAY?, and many others. All told, his books have more then three million copies in print. Currently, he is a partner in the creative advisory firm, Brass Check, and splits time between Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Los Angeles, California with his wife and their beagle.
Charles W. "Chuck" Bryant is the co-host of the Stuff You Should Know podcast and host of the Movie Crush podcast. Stuff You Should Know is one of the most popular shows in history and has allowed Chuck to spend much of his adult life researching, writing and talking about some of the most interesting topics on planet Earth. When he's not working, he enjoys reading hardcover books, camping, playing guitar and singing in his old man band and spending time with his wife Emilie, daughter Ruby and whatever combination of cats and dogs they have at any given moment.

You’ll have to read the book to find it. Lol.
I could totally see recommending this to my students, it’s just interesting enough that you really can’t put it down!
My thanks to NetGalley and Henry Holt and Co. for the advanced readers copy of this book. Please note my review is independent and my opinions are my own.
I question the topics as being essential for "every kid to know". At the same time, I checked out the version for grownups, and this is mostly a "do over" of that book for a younger audience. . I guess I was expecting more important historical events to be covered than "Pet Rocks". Don't get me wrong--it was a fun read for me; I'm just not sure how engrossing it would be for a fifth grader in today's world.
P.S. I have 32 years experience in elementary education--as teacher, supervisor, and administrator. (Additionally, I was once a kid who loved to read--and still do for that matter.)
The young men who wrote this book are talented and humorous, and I wish them well.

Got this book with the intention of giving it to my nephew for Christmas, but now I’ve been reading it myself! (I’ll have to get him another copy).
I always loved these type of books when I was young, ones that tell you all about how things work or the history of how they came to be, and this is a great one! A perfect purchase for the inquisitive youth in your life!
