Purchase options and add-ons
From writer Stacy McAnulty and illustrator David Litchfield, Ocean! Waves for All is a light-hearted nonfiction picture book about the formation and history of the ocean, told from the perspective of the ocean itself.
Dude. Ocean is incredible. Atlantic, Pacific, Artic, Indian, Southern―it's all excellent Ocean! Not part of any nation, his waves are for all. And under those waves, man, he holds so many secrets. With characteristic humor and charm, Stacy McAnulty channels the voice of Ocean in this next "autobiography" in the Our Universe series. Rich with kid-friendly facts and beautifully brought to life by David Litchfield, this is an equally charming and irresistible companion to Earth! My First 4.54 Billion Years; Sun! One in a Billion; and Moon! Earth's Best Friend.

Learn all about the ocean, from how old it is, to the life that began in it, to its depths, layers, secrets, and more in this fun and informative picture book! Learn about its relation to Earth, the moon, and even human beings over time.
There are a few fun extras in the back of the book that include a letter from the author, a collection of number-related facts, a fun interview with Ocean themself, and several great tips on how to be a great friend to the ocean.
We have adored every book in the 'Our Universe' series so far!
If you are looking for a way to teach your young children about the world in a way that will keep their attention, this nonfiction picture book series is perfect for you! Each book in this series personifies the subject, allowing them to explain their life and history, creating a super fun and memorable way to learn.
This book has exquisite photographs of all my favorite parts of the sea -- coral reefs, sharks, the roiling surface during a storm. It's all here.
The ocean is full of stuff that can eat us (we're all edible too). Throw the grandparents in.
If you love art, check out my favorite books on the subject:

- Icon by Frank Frazetta
- Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson
Ocean! Waves for All takes on a ‘surfer dude’ tone as Ocean itself teaches you. My kids loved spotting Ocean’s subtle hands in the wonderful illustrations. This book was the perfect jumping off point as we studied and learned more about oceans in our home learning.
