For American it is important history.
It gives you a good insight and is worth a read and it is a nice and easy read.
This kind of material, for better or worse, is a product of the digital age. It is not as original or scholarly as to be printed in a journal; it could be accompanied by pictures, maps, and documents and become like one of those Junior High histories (think of the old American Heritage series) where the narrative is almost secondary to the pictures. Nor is it fictionalized into a day to day account of Washington's days leading up to the victory with detailed description of his breakfast on the morning of. It is a straightforward, fairly balanced account of the developments that led to what turned out to be the last straw for the English who realized that fighting fellow Englishmen in the colonies was a losing proposition.
What I found here that I had not read elsewhere was the account of the diplomatic developments regarding France's support of the Colonists' efforts and the orders and decisions of the French officers which led to the rare occurrence of the British Navy being outfaced and forced to withdraw, leaving Cornwallis to his fate.
Washington receives the credit for recognizing the possibilities of the situation and committing enough of his resources to box Cornwallis in. He was a leader of men more than a tactician but showing up at the right place at the right time is the secret to victory. This battle serves as a kind of bookend to his first victory at the siege of Boston eight years earlier.
I suppose the comparison with the History Channel is a low bar, but if you want facts as opposed dramatic music and questionable reenactment, this is the superior choice.

What is ironic is that America was help into existence by a French King who was an Absolute monarch, and very much a tyrant. So much so that he was guillotined by his own people a few years later!
One final thought. Americans do not seem to grasp the difference between England/English and Britain/British or United Kingdom. Being English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish (now Northern Irish) is an ethnic identity. Collectively we are all British. It is not correct to refer to England or English in the context of this work.
