What can I say? I am a Max Lucado junkie. This man is simply brilliant the way he makes Jesus' ministry relevant to the 21st century and to me. Max is smart but not condescending or over intellectualized. Have you ever read a book about God or faith and thought to yourself: "What the heck does that mean?". I mean it sounds all holy and spiritual, but I have no clue what you are talking about. Well not with Max.

I don't want to sound like a total nut bag, but I sincerely believe that the Holy Spirit speaks through Max. I have read at least 100 books concerning my faith. The Bible, Torah, Alcorn, Bell, Keller, Bonhoeffer, F.F. Bruce, Foster, St. Augustine, Lucado etc.... You get it. I am a little fixated. Anyway I digress....Max Lucado will not lead you astray. He is Biblically true and grounded. His theology is solid and his ability to explain it in a clear and personal manner is amazing. I personally like to read his books with my Bible at the ready because it is fun to dig deeper when the fire is hot.

Bottom line......buy the book. BT.W. I am a raise your hand and hollar glory, evangelical, charismatic, social justice Christian.

For Me - Max Lucado will always be one of my favorite writers/speakers. Every book I have read of his is full of hope. The day after my 28 year old brother died in a tragic way - someone gave me, In the Eye of the Storm. And how I was there! Prayer, God's word, family,friends and that book - got me through that horrible season of life. Max just has a way of showing you that God loves you know matter the circumstances and that all things do truly work out for the glory of God. He is also honest enough to say that some of that stuff is painful and hurts and we have a choice to make - and it is utimately our choice.
