BEYOND JUSTICE
THE DESCENT INTO HELL IS NOT ALWAYS VERTICAL…

Sam Hudson, a reputable San Diego attorney, learns this when the authorities wrongfully convict him of the brutal rape and murder of his wife and daughter, and sends him to death row. There he awaits execution by lethal injection.

If he survives that long.

In prison, Sam fights for his life while his attorney works frantically on his appeal. It is then that he embraces the faith of his departed wife and begins to manifest supernatural abilities. Abilities which help him save lives– his own, those of his unlikely allies–and uncover the true killer’s identity, unlocking the door to his exoneration.

Now a free man, Sam’s newfound faith confronts him with the most insurmountable challenge yet. A challenge beyond vengeance, beyond rage, beyond anything Sam believes himself capable of: to forgive the very man who murdered his family, according to his faith. But this endeavor reveals darker secrets than either Sam or the killer could ever have imagined. Secrets that hurtle them into a fateful collision course.

BEYOND JUSTICE, a tale of loss, redemption, and the power of faith.

Top reviews from the United States

I've never written a book review before due to one simple reason, I've never felt enough compulsion to do so. I read approx 30-35 novels per year and although many of them are very excellent, this novel by Joshua Graham completely took me to levels and areas that I never expected any book to do. Maybe it's because the story wasn't what I expected but more than likely I'd have to say that the story is so brilliantly written and laid out that the number of surprises, twists and turns, etc. was a huge welcome to me, especially when i feel that i am fairly good at figuring out how and where a author is trying to take his readers.
Not only did this book surprise me over and over again as well as being a top notch "mystery" book but there was another aspect that I hesitate to mention much detail about as I don't want to ruin it for anyone reading this review. Instead of going into details I'll simply put it this way...MORE-SO then ANY OTHER BOOK I'VE EVER READ, this book caused me to look at many things that I hold important to be looked at it in a much BETTER light. I is my OPINION that anyone that reads this book will be a much better/happier person for doing so. This story and author affected me in such a positive way, (please keep in mind that i was a very happy person prior to reading this book), that my previous happiness seems to pale in comparison to how this story stirred something within me that i thought had simply disappeared as I've aged, for the record I am in my mid-forties. I don't expect everyone to have the same reaction to this book that I had as we each have our backgrounds, strengths & weaknesses which I believe all play a role in how each of us reacts to things, (especially something as varied as someone's OPINIONS), however, if any reader even gets or feels a hint of what I felt after reading this book then they will know exactly what I'm speaking about.
I have not read any of Joshua Graham's other works but intend to do so very soon solely due to how much I enjoyed, BEYOND JUSTICE.
My only concern is that i cannot imagine that any other book will cause a "stir" in me the way BEYOND JUSTICE has, but thats a risk definitely worth taking. After all, regardless of whether his other works are as good as BEYOND JUSTICE, I'll still always have BEYOND JUSTICE as my new measuring stick for all others to try to measure up to. Thank you, Joshua Graham, for authoring such a wonderful, inspirational, work of art that will forever be considered one of, if not THE best book I've ever read.

A first read from Mr. Joshua Graham, I must say I was very much surprised by his style of bringing the characters to life, making the reader very much engaged in Sam's life. I was rooting for Sam. I was appalled by a justice system that found him guilty, and delighted when he found his faith. (BTW, I am not an everyday going to church person. I believe that christianity is as much as how you treat your neighbor as it is in attending church). I became immersed in the new friends he made, and like the patchwork quilt that is called life; Mr. Graham weaves the patterns so boldly, that for the reader who believes in God, you are confident in your faith and know that everything happens for a reason.

As Sam faces the inevitable, he is surrounded and cared for by the very people he once shunned. This book takes you through Sam's denial of a God and his conversion as he finds himself in the midst of some inexplicable happenings.

A warning to anyone who finds any books that includes God, conversion, miracles, visions etc, as offensive to your beliefs, please pass on this book. This book is about God. And Faith. And the power of prayers.

It is not a great book, but it is certainly a good book.

I highly recommend this as a must have book. It is genuinely written and will hold you at the edge of your seat. It is an easy read and one you won't want to put down until you are finished it.

Without giving away any spoilers this book initially reads like a murder mystery. The main character, Sam Hudson, is arrested for a murder he didn't commit and the book spends a great deal of time on this subject matter. However, I feel that the book went far beyond just a who did it mystery. This book delves into of course the murder but also the legal justice system, the prison system and a religious theme.

Before choosing to purchase this book please know that religion is a focal point throughout much of the story. However, I feel it is done very tastefully. The author never tries to jam his religious beliefs down the reader's throat. He simply has a religious undertone as part of Sam's journey. The religious aspect did not detract from my reading experience.

Another slight problem with the book was some grammatical errors which may have been a publishing error vs. an author error. I know there were a few examples but one that sticks out in my mind was the use of I when it should have read I'm. Again, not a big deal for me and it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the novel.

In summary, if you are looking for a book that is an easy read, will hold your attention and make you think beyond the scope of the book, by all means spend the $2.99 because you won't be disappointed. Joshua Graham has become a new must have author for me and I can't wait until his next book is available.

I must say that I carefully read the mixed reviews regarding Beyong Justice and then took a chance by purchasing my first Joshua Graham book. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with the story and how it unfolded . It was never predictable and I read it far into the night . I don't want to reveal too much about the tragedy that occurs in the book but it is not far removed from what appears in the news everyday. Bad things do happen and evil, vindictive people do disrupt and destroy lives. This describes the core plot of the story. The gripping part of this novel for me was how the main character processed, then dealt and finally attemped to overcome the tragedy. I never really knew until the end if I was rooting for the victim or the villian! Were they one and the same? What would I have done in his place ? I will add that this is an easy read. It is very straightforward story telling. I would have added an extra star if there had been a more in depth study of the main characters, more first person reasoning and accountability. All in all, I will definately read another Joshua Graham book.

Reading this book has opened up my mind and understanding so much as to how complicated life can be. People are not always as they appear to be on the outside. We each need to be loved by a friend and to find forgiveness in our heart for the one who has hurt us or hurt one that we love. So well written- thank you Joshua

I bought this by mistake thinking it was a Grisham, and how glad I am as it is excellent .
Characterisation is good, and the plot kept me riveted until the last page. So pleased that I could read it on Kindle, as I wasn't tempted to cheat and go the last page to see how it finished!
A compulsive read.
