Here's what best-selling author Monica Burns said about "Logan's Redemption" in her "Love Rocks" from Rock*It Reads:

"As an author, I don't have a lot of time to read, which makes me a really picky reader. But when I find a book I really like, I tell my friends about it....The first book I fell in love with was Cara Marsi's "Logan's Redemption." See, I told you these were redeeming reads! I've always enjoyed the romantic suspense books that Harlequin publishes, and Marsi's book easily fits into that same type of sexy, sleek skin....Reading for me is all about the voice. If you snag me with your voice, I'm on the hook for more. Marsi did just that with Logan and Doriana's story. I loved the pictures she created in my head."

How can you not fall in love with this cover! It is one of those that makes your want to just grab it and dig into because you can tell this will be one of passion, suspense, and who knows what else. I know thats what I thought about it as soon as I saw it! The author has out done herself in my opinion with this amazing story. As soon as I started to read it I was enthralled into the world of both main characters (Dorie and Logan). I could feel the hurt and struggle that Dorie had to go through to keep her secret safe especially after all the years the man all of a sudden drops into her life again. Logan has built himself up from what he was 16 years ago and now is asked for his services by his first love’s dad to find out who is trying to ruin the company. Has the love flame burnt out or will these two come back to rekindle and make up for those lost years. When lives are put at stake what will it take for all truths to come out…The author will have you on the edge of your seat and even though i loved to hate a couple characters they shone through at the end with the twists and turns the author throws at you. The flow of the plot is flaweless and well thought out. Check this book out next time you want a little suspense in your romance you will be happy you did.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book. Many things I needed answers to.
Questions:
Why didn't the author do a tad bit of research?
What kind of investigator is Logan if he didn't know Dorie had a teenage son?
The car Josh received. Hello? New vehicles like that have devices installed where they can be not only traced BUT they can be turned off while a 'thief' is in possession.

But, I looked past obvious questions and just read it like I didn't care for the discrepancies. It was an interesting read. Except for the research part, the book had a plot, characters you like and those you love to hate. Editing was good. I am giving it four stars but really needs 3.75. So, am I going to read book 2? Yes.

Dorianna is having a bad day. Her teen son is rebelling against her, secretively sneaking off to who knows where, an overbearing father (who's also her big boss) and most of her, her new assistant is none other than Logan, her childhood sweetheart who abruptly left town 16 years ago. Added to the mix is some corporate espionage and a peverted stalker who's threatening her. Should Dorianna confide in Logan and rely on him for help? And would she let Logan know that he's the father of her son?

I'm not really a fan of stories revolving around a "bad boy" who returns to the good girl who stayed in town, etc. Such tales often makes you want to smack the guy for leaving and lament why the girl so easily takes him back. I'm glad to say that this story is different as there are some plausible reasons why things ended up the way they did. The story was also greatly aided along by some suspense and some great writing. All in all, a great read!

Ok, let me start by saying two things: (1) I'm still reading the book (about 50% done); and (2) what I've read thus far is a decent enough read. My problem comes in how highly implausible the whole situation is. 50% through the book and Logan still doesn't know he has a teenager and Dorie is obsessing over telling him. The second implausibility comes in that everyone in Dorie's family keep telling Logan that he "looks familiar." Yet, Dorie's inner monologue keeps commenting on how he looks so very much like his father. Josh is 15 years old, not a child or a baby, so his resemblance to Logan should be quite apparent to Logan's at this point in his life. Yet, her brother and father only comment on him "looking familiar." Only secondary character, cousin Anita, figures out the Logan is Josh's daddy. Wow...what an epiphany...........NOT REALLY. The fact that Dorie is still hiding older pictures of Josh and talking about him as if he was a three-year old child is just ridiculous at 50% of the way through the book. The little surprise of Josh's parentage should have been revealed about a quarter of the way into the book so the rest could deal more with the thriller/suspense portion of the story. My review so far.....critical?.....maybe.....truthful?.....always!

When Logan Tanner reappears in Doriana Callahan's life, feelings that have lain dormant for 16 years resurface, along with long-held secrets.

In the first few pages, Cara Marsi's second novel, LOGAN'S REDEMPTION, will have you intrigued by Doriana and Logan's past, fearful of their present situation, and wondering what the future holds for these seemingly star-crossed lovers.

Marsi deftly creates page-turning suspense, as she weaves the story through scenes with strong visual imagery and reveals her characters' feelings in ways that will tug at your emotions.

And be prepared--the chemistry between Logan and Doriana crackles with enough electricity to power the city of Philadelphia.

So all in all this was a good read. I thought the chemistry between the two main characters was unbelievable, and you could almost feel the sparks flying! I felt that Logan and Doriana fought themselves just a little TOO much, but who is to say what too much really is? Maybe it added to the tension. It certainly made me tense. This was your classic "never forgot you and now that I have found you, I am never letting you go" love story, but there was so much more. There was a teenage son that Logan never knew about, the mystery surrounding work, and a long lost and almost forbidden 1st love. Without giving too much away, anybody that loves a good romance wrapped in a little bit of mystery will love this book.

I enjoyed Doriana & Logan's story...a second chance to be with your first love is wonderful. I love Doriana's family and could relate to her relationship with her parents. I also got upset with her parents birthday "gift" to 16 yr old Josh! I enjoyed meeting all the characters in the first book of her Redemption series and I am really looking forward to reading all about Franco (Doriana's brother) in the second book Franco's Fortune. I sure hope that he "grows up." All in all it was a very enjoyable read

4.0 out of 5 stars Certainly an interesting tale. Not what you'd expect - and holds your interest really well. A very enjoyable read.

Reading the Brief synopsys of the story line by Amazon, it seems a familiar vein. Teenagers, she gets pregnant, but he's skipped town before knowing that, where to - who knows. Sixteen years later he's back to assist her father in his large construction business that she is V.P. of not knowing he has a son, etc., etc. But the story isn't just the same old, same old. Sabotage, thefts, threats, old enemies, lies, deceit, a belligerent teenager, secrets to no end, long buried feelings, twists, turns and surprises galore are front and centre here. Sure there is frequent sexual tension, but that's always the backbone of this type of yarn. What else were you otherwise expecting? Eventually things come to a head and no one gets killed, although it looked bad for a while. Differences, secrets, and necessary explanations come together in an exceptionally satifying manner, but you have to read how that gets done. Of course there are descriptive sex scenes, but that's the kind of story it has to be; and those actually help move the story along as part of the necessary resolutions. Plus gives you a better sense of empathy for the two leads, Doriana and Logan. So I wasn't upset or affronted. In spite of being a guy who isn't really into this kind of story, I'm a cop/murder thriller type reader, I did get a kick out of it, and do recommend it.

Doriana Callahan got pregnant as a teenager but never got chance to tell her boyfriend that he was going to become a father as he left town suddenly. So she kempt quiet about who was Josh's father. Unfortunately 16 years later she's finds him, Logan Tanner, sat in her office as her Dad has hired Logan as per PA. Logan is actually undercover as someone's been sabotaging her father's company but he can't tell Doriana that. Quite a fast paced book that manages to have a corny ending but it was spot on.
