What do you do when the one that got away...comes back?

Carrie Halligan never regretted the choice she made sixteen years ago to raise her son Jack by herself in Willow Bay, Michigan. A successful photographer by day, at night Carrie satisfies her musical passions by playing piano at a hotel bar, maintaining a balance that works for her and Jack. Walking away from Maestro Liam Reilly without telling him she was pregnant with his child may have been the hardest thing she’d ever done, but it was definitely the right thing.

When Liam shows up in town to perform a benefit concert with the local symphony, however, Carrie’s carefully crafted life spins out of control. After sending Jack to summer camp, she realizes she can’t keep Liam in the dark forever. Telling the truth to the man she once loved more than life itself isn’t near as hard as spending time in his presence and realizing that the years haven’t diminished his power over her heart. Will her lie be too much to get past, or will the spark of passion between them overcome everything?

Nan Reinhardt is a USA Today bestselling writer of romantic fiction for women in their prime. She is also a wife, a mom, a mother-in-law, and a grandmother. She's been an antiques dealer, a bank teller, a stay-at-home mom, a secretary, and for the last 17 years, she's earned her living as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader.

But writing is Nan's first and most enduring passion. She can't remember a time in her life when she wasn't writing--she wrote her first romance novel at the age of ten, a love story between the most sophisticated person she knew at the time, her older sister (who was in high school and had a driver's license!) and a member of Herman's Hermits. If you remember who they are, you are Nan's audience! She's still writing romance, but now from the viewpoint of a wiser, slightly rumpled, woman in her prime who believes that love never ages, women only grow more interesting, and everybody needs a little sexy romance.

Carrie Halligan is the perfect single mom. Opting to raise her son Jack in the small sea town of Willow Bay, she was protective of son. Her personal life was put on hold juggling the duties of mother and breadwinner with her photography business and part time job as a piano player. Her work and her son were her life and Willow Bay was her sanctuary....until the day Maestro Liam Reilly shows up at the local marina in a yacht. When she finds out he is in town to conduct a benefit concert, her life goes into a tailspin. Secrets from their past are about to come to light and there's a chance of pain and hurt.
Once More From the Top is a masterfully conducted love story with all the right notes. The relationship between Carrie and Liam is a crescendo of events as they finally reach the perfect balance of legato. You'll fall head over heels with the well developed characters and will be cheering to this couple and the prodigy son Jack to make it to the final act of happy ever after. Bravo Nan Reinhardt!

This was a second chance for two who parted almost sixteen years ago. She left him so that he could go one to become a great concert conductor, a maestro. She went and has his son. Now they are in the same town. Will he find out about his child? Will he ever forgive her? Why did she leave? There was enough angst to keep me reading. Not anger from him. They both have secrets that the other will find out. The story line was about music symphony orchestra style. Well done. I could hear the music being played. Am looking forward to the next book out.

From beginning to end Once More From the Top is about beautiful music, mature lovers and finding ways to communicate, compromise and share the joys of music, love and the talent of each member of the family. Love stories about mature couples are rare and finding one that is fun, in a beautiful setting next to Lake Michigan made for a delightful story.

Carrie and Liam find the feelings and love they shared sixteen years ago is still strong and they find a second chance with the blessings of their son Jack, given in typical teenage fashion. The characters were true to their age with a good presentation of appropriate language and attitude to keep the story moving and interesting as it played out Once More From the Top.

I thought this was a solid and well-written story, especially for a free download but I would have preferred to spend more time on the outside conflicts instead of spending so much on the main characters feelings of inadequacy. To be honest she was starting to annoy me about how she wanted didn't want to share her son with his famous father or have any of his lifestyle affect her son. I liked the idea of the story and I wish I had enjoyed her character more.

I loved this book. It was sexy without being smutty, it has characters I could really like, it was a true love story, and it was written for mature adults. One other high point is that this book exposed readers to some of the jewels of Michigan - the beauty of the Traverse Bay area, the fun of the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and the quality of the renowned Interlochen arts scene.

First I would like to point out I gave up on Romantic Novels long ago. Ms. Reinhardt has changed all that! Her believable, well written
relatable stories about love, loss and triumph has once again made me a fan. I especially like that her heroines are older woman like
myself. And thanks to Nan Reinhardt's writing, there is still love and romance and did I mention steamy sex for us baby boomers!
Love the way she weaves a story with down to earth believable dialog and I loved Willow Bay so much I Googled it not realizing it was fictitious!

I look forward to reading all of Nan Reinhardt's books, and thanks to her I am once again hooked on "romance" ❤️.

Great story, great characters, great writing. I love it. Cannot stop reading until it ends. The story was so touching and romantic that I could not put it down until finished. The author did a great job in building the characters, the emotions. It was so moving. The love story about the symphony conductor the celebrity and the small town single mom photographer was refreshing and touching. The characters were so beautiful built yet they were not perfect. I think that was why they were so real and attracted my emotions. I was so absorbed in their story that I felt loss when the story ended.
I will certainly look for the other books of this author.

I really like this series of people facing life choices, and changes. They make mistakes, but are not
Evil. They learn and change. This book does need better editing, but it was not enough of an issue to spoil the story.

A well written story with dialogues and descriptions that brought everything to life. It’s not often that a story creates an image in my mind of the people and what they are doing, but this one has. And I read a lot of romance stories, lol
