Avalon Revamped Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 4 ratings

Arthur Tudor, a vampire for nearly four-hundred years, finds himself bored with life and love, yet again. His tolerance for his newly-turned girlfriend Avalon wanes, and he's on the prowl for fresh blood to drink and succulent flesh to pierce. While investigating a series of mysterious disappearances, the couple comes face to face with Constance, a succubus committed to exacting justice for violated women. The supernatural trio joins forces to stop a serial rapist and murderer. Set in Victorian London, this Steampunk horror novel is about justice, retribution, and redemption. Adult content.

Let true justice prevail...

“Every once in a while I get the opportunity to read a piece of work that makes me think, ‘This is the one the will put this author on the map of the reading world.’ Avalon Revamped is that book for O. M. Grey. It deals with some horrific truths and should be read by every person on the planet. It is a great adventure, with serious underpinnings that elevate it into a higher realm of genre literature.” ~ C. L. Stegall, author of The Blood of Others

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Although this book was written and published back in 2013, it's as relevant as ever in this age of #MeToo. I wrote this in the aftermath of rape and sexual assault. It was cathartic for me to write about a powerful succubus whose raison d'être was to punish sexual predators and deliver justice for their victims. .
I call this a "sequel of sorts" to the Amazon Gothic Romance Bestseller
Avalon Revisited because it has some of the same characters and is set in the same world, but the tone and scope is quite different. The two books represent my personal evolving perception of sexuality and sexual violence. .
For many years I didn't promote this book because on one had I was barely functional in the aftermath of my rape and on the other I felt a lot of shame that I wrote about sexual assault...five years before #MeToo.
.
Women were not believed. Not supported.
Survivors were systematically silenced. Blamed. Shamed. .
In the subsequent years I would lose everything because of the assaults, including my identity, my writing career, my sexuality, and my husband.
.
Perhaps now in this time of #MeToo, I can once again be proud of my work.

About the Author

O. M. Grey was a pen name used by author Christine Rose between the years 2010 and 2014, mostly in the Steampunk community. Olivia was originally created as a marketing experiment early in 2010, which was a smashing success at first. Olivia's original mysterious persona and dark erotic fantasy earned her a NY agent and a spot on Amazon's Gothic Romance Bestseller list during the summer of 2010 for her book Avalon Revisited.

Olivia M. Grey lived in the cobwebbed corners of her mind writing paranormal romance with a Steampunk twist. She dreamt of the dark streets of London and the decadent deeds that occur after sunset. Olivia focused both her poetry and prose on alternative relationship lifestyles and deliciously dark matters of the heart and soul. Her work has been published in various anthologies and magazines like Stories in the Ether, Steampunk Adventures, SNM Horror Magazine and How The West Was Wicked.

Also a cover model for Gearhearts Steampunk Glamour Revue, Ms. Grey's poem "New York Rain" not only won an award for best poem, but it also made the Bar None Group's Hall of Fame. Her short story "Dust on the Davenport," written for Tales of the Archives, as well as her bestselling Steamy Steampunk novel Avalon Revisited, won the 2012 Steampunk Chronicle's Reader's Choice Award for best short story and best novel, respectively. Olivia was voted "Muse of the Fair" at the 2011 Steampunk World's Fair and has enjoyed being a special literary guest at Steampunk Conventions, like Clockwork Con, Aetherfest, HRM Steampunk Symposium, Florida Steampunk Exhibition East, among many others.

Ms. Grey was the alter ego of Christine Rose, the award-winning author of the Rowan of the Wood fantasy series, but Olivia has been laid to rest.

Avalon's life is completely changed forever and not in the way you expect!

The darkness you find is not in the souls of monsters but in the souls of men. She captured this well.

The subject matters explored in this novel are not for the faint of heart, they are real issues which reflect the concerns of a modern society, yet the book also has a refreshing take on the vampire myth and is full of action and suspense. Very readable for fans of Steampunk and vampires alike.
