Review

"4 OUT OF 4 STARS! The plot was fast-paced, action-packed, and well developed. Family, honor, smuggling, and people's pasts are but a few of the themes in this action-packed spy novel. Reminiscent of James Bond films and the Alex Rider series with a satisfying, believable ending, Auxier grabs the reader hook, line, and sinker. Reluctant and avid readers who enjoy teenage, fast-paced spy adventures will love reading this book."--Online Book Club

From the Author

Cartel Kidnapping is the second book in the series created by my first novel, Code Name: Dodger, and continues the story that is dearest to my heart.
Written first-person by the lead character, the narrative puts you in the shoes of teen orphan Justin Reed. Rebellious yet sincere, complex yet compelling, Justin is the adopted son of CIA Case Officer Bob Cheney.Full of more trademark action, humor, spy gadgets and nefarious evil-doers,
Cartel Kidnapping picks up where Code Name: Dodger leaves off, as Justin tracks his kidnapped father to a secret drug cartel smuggling base in Mexico.I call it a Spy/Fly Thriller - a spy thriller, chock full of flying! So, fasten your seat belts, ladies and gentlemen. The ride's about to get rough!

Yes! After reading the first book in the series I had to get the second one. It was a great read as well. It was a great follow on to the first book and kept me turning pages throughout the entire enjoyable read! Look forward to number three in the series.

What do you get when you mix a 14-year-old CIA-trained former-orphan with a Mexican drug cartel, an undercover agent, two boats, two helicopters, a secret island and a small airplane? A rollicking fun read that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

That's right - Justin Reed is back and better than ever! Code Name Dodger Mission 2: Cartel Kidnapping picks up right where the first book left off. Justin's ingenuity and courage are put to the test like never before as he rushes to rescue his new dad from a gang of thugs bent on discovering the identity of the great Agent Dodger. Justin is pushed to his limits both physically and mentally as he is forced to confront some of his darkest fears. But even when things seem hopeless, Justin always finds a way to persevere. And just when you think you can't stand any more suspense, Justin's fate is placed into the hands of his greatest enemy in a twist you won't see coming.

This book is packed with non-stop action that is fun for young and old. You will NOT want to put it down! And as with any great story, it will leave you longing for more. Thank goodness a third installment is in the works!

I decided to read this book to see if it would be appropriate for my young nephews, nieces, and grandsons. It was a resounding "YES IT IS!" And it's even appropriate for us baby boomers! Eric has a vivid style of writing; his style reminds me of Mark Twain's style--witty, detailed, strong development of memorable characters, and great adventures await with each page. I could not put this book down! In fact, I will read all the Dodger book series just to make sure my nieces, nephews and grandsons would love them. Why should they have all the fun!

Having taken my son’s suggestion that I HAD to read Eric Auxier’s 1st Code Name Dodger and finding it a great read, I was anxiously awaiting “Code Name Dodger: Cartel Kidnapping”.
While so many sequels are not as good as the first, this was not the case
I found “Code Name Dodger: Cartel Kidnapping” captivating, interesting and full of action. Once when you thought it could not have gotten more action filled, Eric did not disappoint in his details of the drug cartel, the actions from land, air and sea. While I will not spoil this action crazed book for you with all the details, I truly think you will find this novel enjoyable and interesting for both younger and older readers, you will also see a softer more mature side of Dodger as he grows up but it does make his life any less thrilling.

Code Name Dodger is a series that exemplifies the literary genius of the author. The Dodger series keeps me on edge, as my anticipation for each subsequent book grows!! Code Name Dodger Mission 2 kept my attention with each turn of the page. The main character Justin, always has a "bag of tricks" to get himself out of sticky situations, whether it be his knowledge of different languages or his tactical prowess. The way the book is written, allows the reader to invision the story as if it was a movie playing in their head. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves an action packed thriller. This book is appealing to a wide spectrum of ages, as my 9 year old daughter enjoyed the book also! Great read!!!

I'm a 76 year old "non-fiction" reader but got the three volume Dodger series for Christmas and just couldn't put them down once I started reading them. I felt like I was living the action with the characters, tracking down the mole, part of the kidnapping in Islandia, and in the cockpit with Fagin and Dodger. I may have to reconsider reading only non-fiction, especially if Eric Auxier is the author. Ed Soule
