Web of Deceit (Agents Under Fire) Kindle Edition
When FBI Agent Kaitlyn Knight discovers her brother-in-law is Vyper—the notorious cyber-criminal and murderer wanted by the FBI—Kait doesn’t question her duty to arrest him. But when he murders her sister in front of her, leaving her infant niece motherless, Kait vows to hunt him down and bring him to justice while raising the baby.
Three years later, and not even a whisper of a lead in her search, Kait is about to give up hope of ever finding Vyper. All of that changes when he goes on a murderous spree taunting Kait with clues that she and homicide detective Sam Murdock must solve before her devious brother-in-law takes another life.
As the body count rises, Sam discovers the killing spree is really about striking back at Kait. He must put everything on the line—including the relationship he’s developed with Kait—to ensure her safety. The killer is waiting, watching her every move—and he won’t stop until he’s exacted his revenge and reclaims his rights to raise his daughter.

This opening only races faster with suspense from here on out. When FBI Agent Kaitlyn Knight discovers her brother-in-law is Vyper--the notirous cyber criminal and murderer wanted by the FBI---Kait doesn't question her duty to arrest him. As the body count rises, Sam discovers the killing spree is really about striking back at Kait. Susan Sleeman knows how to do suspense and do it well. Quite possibly, the best suspense author I've ever read, her books ratchet up the tension and send the reader spiraling, on tenderhooks and gasping for breath, toward the finale. It's hard to put one of her books down to do necessary chores and then you can't wait to get back to it! She writes expertly and excellently. I am a forever fan!
Kait and Sam are one of my all-time favorite couples. Sleeman created engaging and fun dialogue between the characters. I loved their chemistry. The opening scene grabbed my attention and didn’t let go. The book is gripping, compelling, and intense. Although Sleeman does not give us the gory details of the kidnapping and killings and the cyber-criminal information is very creepy.
Kaitlyn is an FBI agent and trying hard to be a good mom to her niece. She is still searching for her brother in law who killed her sister. Her brother in law, Vyper--the notorious cyber-criminal and murderer. She has had no leads in three years. Clues start to surface about her brother in law and then we have our first murder which is where Sam enters. Sam is a Detective on the Portland Police and had jurisdiction for the murder. I loved the scene when Kait is walking up to Sam at the first murder scene. There is also a very touching scene where she finally tells Sam why she chose the FBI.
I don’t want to ruin any of the story because I highly recommend that you read it and then change your passwords

If you are a fan of TV's NCIS & similar stories, you will love this one! I do not watch such shows because they are so graphically brutal. I cannot sleep well for days if I watch them. This story is one that I would not read before bedtime or during the night. My imagination can fill in the details too well. BUT, I loved this book as it is well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. I loved the characters of Kait and Sam. Susan Sleeman does go into some fairly graphic detail regarding how Fenton treats some of his victims. It definitely adds to the "chill" factor of the story. The way she works World of Warcraft into this story is very interesting to say the least. I highly recommend this book. It is more mystery/suspense than romance but it has just enough romance going on.

I have to admit I was a little bit cautious after I noticed how many books this author published with Love Inspired Suspense and those I read I wasn’t much excited about.
Three years after Kait found out her brother-in-law is a cyber-criminal she and her colleagues at the FBI were looking for and he killed her twin-sister in front of her she’s frustrated there’s not a whisper of a lead to find him.
I loved how realistic and candid this novel is. I’m sure there are readers who don’t appreciate the graphic violence and sexual tension between the main characters – I liked the story even more because that’s how life often is.
The novel is fast paced, has interesting characters with great character development and shows enough faults in their relationships to stay realistic
Kait’s mother, boss and her brother-in-law (pretty creepy) were the only characters I didn’t like and I suppose it was even on purpose.
