About the author

Kate Lattey lives in Foxton, New Zealand and started riding at the age of 10. She was lucky enough to get her first pony two years later, and went on to compete regularly as a teenager before heading to university and attaining a degree in English and Media Studies.
In the years since, Kate has never been far from horses, and has worked in various jobs including as a livery yard groom in England, a trekking guide in Ireland, running a riding school in New Zealand, and spending five wonderful summers in the USA as a camp counsellor at Road's End Farm, NH. During her time there Kate wrote several short stories about the farm's horses, which were a huge hit with the campers.
Kate is the head coach of her local pony club, and is also a show jumping course designer, show hunter judge, cross-country commentator and private coach for several competitive young riders.
Kate has been reading and writing pony stories ever since she can remember, and loves being able to share them with readers from all over the world.

Katy continues to help AJ train Squib — and their combined efforts are starting to pay off... In AJ, Katy has found someone who is willing to learn and improve...
It enjoyed reading from Katy's point of view in this book. She is growing up and learning life's lessons — some of them the hard way...
Someone from Deb and Katy's past shows up in this story and reactions are mixed, but appear to be mostly unfavourable...
This is an entertaining series by author, Kate Lattey. This was a fun afternoon read and I am looking forward to "Triple Bar" told from Stephanie's point of view!
The characters are believable, the ponies included and so is the storyline. As someone who enjoys teaching, it's great to see Kate subtly teaching her young readers about studs and tendon injuries.
More please!

I feel some parts for unnecessary and inappropriate for younger children but overall is a very nice book and I look forward to reading triple bar next

Kate Lattey has put together the story and drawn the characters with her usual skill. A top quality read for young horse-lovers and adults alike.
