Two world-renowned scientists have disappeared, and FBI agent Andra Bailey is assigned to find them and hunt down the kidnapper. She’s exactly the right person to get it done. In her personal life, Bailey works hard to control her sociopathic tendencies. But on the job, her cold logic comes in handy.

The agent soon suspects that a rare-metal shortage may be the link between the disappearances and that the motive is far more dangerous than she imagined. With the tech market in turmoil and prices sky-high, electronics companies and their power-hungry CEOs are ready to do anything—even kill—to keep production lines going.

When a third scientist disappears, Bailey throws caution aside to track the crimes to their source. But the clock is ticking on the scientist’s life, and when the bureau pulls its support, Bailey is on her own to stop the meltdown.

The book ranks right up there with the best of her excellent series novels.” —Tim Hallinan, bestselling author of The Junior Bender Mysteries

“With cutting-edge technology, nonstop action, and a wholly original character in Agent Bailey, L.J. Sellers, Point of Control is a heart-pounding thriller that is smart as all get-out.” —J. Carson Black, New York Times bestselling author

“In this solid thriller, Sellers (The Gauntlet Assassin) combines a deeply flawed, yet sympathetic lead, with a clever and plausible plot device.” —Publishers Weekly

“[A] page turner for lovers of technology and an original story that definitely has not been done before.” —Suspense Magazine

I read a loser book before this and while it was a bad memory I slipped into this book like it was a favorite pair of comfy slippers. I like L.J. Sellers writing. I was "there" within minutes of starting to read and I was comfortable with the book and the story. I liked the characters and the storyline. So typical of something the government would do . . . and best of all? The good guys won! The book was fast-paced and thoroughly enjoyable, so I heartily recommend it to the discerning reader. 😉 I see no reason why you would not enjoy this one and I plan to read more as I've found myself a fan of this (new to me) author.

This was the first novel I've read by L. J. Sellers and found it to be quite enjoyable. Coincidentally, it was also a timely plot with the current debate over cellphone encryption as the Justice Department pushes Apple to unlock the phone of a deceased terrorist. But back to this book, it kept my interest throughout, and while somewhat of a stretch with the storyline at times, I recommend this to those who enjoy espionage thrillers. I plan on reading another of Ms. Seller's novels in the future.

One of my favorite authors. I buy her mysteries whenever they are advertised and am never disappointed. This story is especially fast paced. Although the stories and characters are not very complex, they are satisfying. I find myself reading faster and faster as the mystery unfolds. I don't like to give much away in a review since the fun is in the discovery of the plot and characters.

This is a very well-written book. There is a lot of action and many twists and turns and a little romance. Some of the characters are okay and some are hard to remember at times so I would say that they are not developed enough. I liked the book and can recommend it.

Interesting characters, that I hope we will hear from again in future books. Sellers has written into it ... an interesting "sociopath". I like her, but then I have empathy.
Amazing that the cell phones that keep us in touch to so many, carry so much power to the money hungry thieves ... a good few hours read.
Sellers always is worth the read. Can't wait to see what's next for Andra. ☆☆☆☆☆☆

This book was well written. There were a couple of editing mistakes, but nothing overwhelming or even majorly noticeable. I especially enjoyed the main character...the aggressive, confident agent whose in love with her job and certain risk-taking. Great plot. Thoroughly enjoyable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not one of the best
Reviewed in Canada on April 19, 2016
Not one of the best from LJ Sellers. Slow moving with jumps in the action that do not tie together or make logical operational sense. I came close to just putting the book down and moving on to something else. Central character is weak and boring.
Would like more of Detective Jackson from the author
