Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Jackie has been writing fiction since she was eleven years old. Mild mannered fantasy/SF/pseudo-literary writer by day, obsessive romance writer by night, she used to balance her writing with the more serious job of librarianship until a chance meeting with another romance writer prompted her to throw off the shackles of her day job and devote herself to the true love of her heart – writing romance. She particularly likes to write dark, emotional stories with alpha heroes who've just got the world to their liking only to have it blown wide apart by their kick-ass heroines.

She lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband, the inimitable Dr Jax and two kids. When she's not torturing alpha males and their gutsy heroines, she can be found drinking chocolate martinis, reading anything she can lay her hands on, wasting time on social media, or being forced to go mountain biking with her husband.

This is really a great read for me and it was a bit different from some the other Sheikh books I have read. I loved Felicity’s spunk, and her drive; doing it all on her own without the support of anyone. I wish I could be just like her.
Felicity’s a 24 young woman with a genius IQ. She has a P.H.D. from MIT she going to see She Al-Haraha in order to convince in to use the software from her new startup company Red Star Tech. She has been bullied all of her life. Her father upset that she wasn’t born a boy so that he would be able to join his law firm. Her mother was always introducing men to her for marriage. Her mother thought it would make her father happy; thus saving their marriage. Unfortunately for her mother Felicity did want marriage; she worked hard at school to do what she liked winning awards that her parents took no interest in and her father still divorced her mother. After the divorce her mother blamed Felicity for it; thus Felicity has spoken to neither parent for several years. Her SUV has been stop in a narrow roadway, the driver has been knocked unconscious and she finds herself being drugged and kidnapped.
Zabkir ibn Rashid AlNazri is the ruling sheikh of Al-Shakhra. Intel had told him that Princes Safira the pending fiancée to Sheikh Al-Harha had turned him down and that she would be in the car. He was planning on fallowing the ancient custom of taking her as his bride prize she was the perfect bride for him a strong woman, like a warrior as he was. Instead he got Felicity and he could not let her go without causing a up roar between the two countries. Now he has decided that Felicity will be his bride prize. He just didn’t realize that the tiny little woman was such a spit fire. Will he be able to claim her has his bride are will she turn everything upside down for him.

Felicity is a smart, independent woman who travels to the Middle East for business, in a crazy turn of events she ends up taking an unplanned and unwanted detour. Instead of arriving to her intended destination she ends up a "guest" in a neighbouring country.

Sheik Zakir, a soldier turned king, is a hard man who has had a hard life. He isn't used to being questioned or challenged, but after mistakenly bringing Felicity to his country he starts to experience many new things.

This was a sexy read, and I would recommend it. The characters are likeable, and you want them to find happiness.

The book has pretty good main characters who have a battle of wills going on from the minute Felicity gets kidnapped. She may be tiny but that doesn't stop her from opening her mouth and letting it rip. She turns out to be wrong woman but at the right time.
Zakir is used to speaking and people jumping to obey. That is so the opposite of who Felicity is and who she has had to be. She is a genius who has beaten the odds when it comes to owning and running her own business. That is so at odds with the almost medieval sheikh. It's like the old culture colliding with the new modern ways of life.
Zakir is afraid of physically hurting Felicity especially after the tragedy of his brother and his wife's death. He fears that there is madness in him and he keeps his passions under tight control. He was a fierce soldier before stepping up as the new Sheikh. There are emotional moments as well as sex exploding between Zakir and Felicity.
I would have liked to have seen an Epilogue and also I felt like a few issues might have been addressed a bit more. It felt like there was more to the story of his brother and his wife's deaths. Also what happened to the faction who disrespected Felicity so publicly?

There's nothing like a sexy sheikh book to throw you into the fantasy world of the devilishly handsome leader of a country who has kidnapped you and plans to make you his bride. That's the case here with Jackie's third Sheikh story (all standalone), telling the story of Zakir and Felicity. He mistakenly kidnaps her thinking the car she is in contains the bride to be of a neighbouring sheikh, a woman who understands the politics and needs of a country and can be a stabilizing influence for his people. Following a traditional custom, she is to be his bride prize. Instead he gets tech wiz Felicity who's there to present her new software that will radically improve the lives of the people in the desert country, and never imagines she'd be taken by a neighbouring sheikh to his home and forced into a marriage she would never agree to. He holds her life or death in his hands - but oh, those hands! Suddenly feeling an intense sexual attraction towards her kidnapper, Felicity still intends to bargain for her freedom but resistance might be futile...

I really enjoyed this one, in particular because both characters were very appealing. Zakir is the consummate leader - taking over the kingdom due to tragic circumstances and needing to secure a bride to stabilize the factions in his country who would oppose his rule. Emotion isn't part of his decisions, just cold hard reality. He needs an heir, and he needs a woman to provide that for him. He doesn't count on his feelings for Felicity being so strong right from the first time she defies him, but the more she fights back, the more intrigued he is by her. Felicity is a strong and feisty woman, who isn't going to take this whole fiasco lying down. She has a company and people who depend on her, and being thrown back into the middle ages with this handsome but infuriating man is not something she every imagined would happen to her. At the same time though, a part of her is thrilled when she's around him, not only lighting her up sexually but also knowing that he wants her fills a space in her heart that she'd long ago decided she didn't need. It's a rocky ride for sure, and their sexual compatibility isn't going to be enough to build a future on. Of course eventually Zakir is going to let her go (because underneath it all, he's still a good guy) and Felicity is going to have to decide if that's really what she wants after all. Lots of fun with this one, a great sexy read. 4.5 stars.

Felicity was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Mistaken for someone else. Zakir took her anyways. He needs a bride but didn't want anything other than on paper. Zakir had problems but Felicity was determined to find out what they were. She broke down his defences. He was a man that couldn't love for his own sake. See how it all turns out. Loved the ending.

I love this book.
Z carjack a car believing that it holds a princess that he wants to marry but he gets plain Jane F when she sees his face he has no choice but to take her so that she can't tell anyone what he has done and he decides that she will be the one. All be it with a few protests along the way those are soon turned round when they share more than words but each other. He's more affraid of falling to the madness that took his father and brother but she tells him that he won't and that he should trust himself.
I love that they fall for each other after an explosive start to the book. This is a good book no Clif hangers and a happy ending I would say a standalone Although it is part of a series.
