Another amazing book by a great author it's about a woman named Cassie Walker that has started changing into a demon on her 25 th birthday, she receives a book from her dead mother and decides to travel back to her home town and her parents house that she abandoned when her brother and father had died to get some answers to why she can hardly sleep anymore and is always losing track of time while seeing shadow people.
She returns to her home town and meets one of her childhood friends josh tucker who she's still a crush on even when they were kids and gets talked into enter the annual demon run in woodland creek, and ends up meeting another old childhood friend jenn but jenn doesn't seam to be acting herself and gets the feeling it really isn't jenn. She now knows that josh is in danger and needs to save him some how if you love a good demon love story you must read

This started out super strong with a lot of great characterization and storytelling. I loved the way Cassie "came into her demon side", and the relationships between the characters was solid and endearing. There were great twists and turns during the first half to keep me interested and reading.

I'm giving it four stars, though, because the last 20% felt incredibly rushed. After the decent pacing of the narrative, all of a sudden, things are critical and have to happen NOW. Cassie somehow manages to harness her demon abilities with zero trial and error, having the sudden knowledge and strength to do what she needs to do just before the end of the book. And the jump from the second to last chapter to the last chapter was super abrupt and threw me off.

Overall, it was an entertaining read.

Because I am the Mom of April Aasheim, I am unable to tell readers how much I have enjoyed my daughters books. However, she is a intelligent, warm, and funny author. Please give yourself a treat, buy into her world of magick, and wonder!

I really liked reading about Cassia, Josh and Jenn. It was also interesting to learn about the difference between Demons and Angels. There were lots of twists and turns but in the end everything came out like it should. I like this Author and will watch for her other books.

It's a cute devil and angel story with a young girl coming into her own and twist on the good and evil part.

This is a great quick read for those in-between, what-should-I-read, kind of moments. It reminded me of the TV series Supernatural with a more feminine edge. Personally, I would have enjoyed a little more action, but I'm pretty happy with this fun story overall.

Really good book. I can't say much without spoilers. But I really enjoyed this book and am curious about other books in the series, which apparently are not about the same people but about the same town. Which is a nice change from long, dragged out relationships through a series of books. Great stand-alone that you don't have to read an entire series about to find out either how it all started or how it all ends.

Not in this wonderful story. It takes your ideas and turns then on their heads. Well written. Sad, fun, endearing, loving, tragic all ruled into one rounded story and lesson to live life to the fullest and do what makes your happy instead of what you lock yourself into.

I really enjoyed reading this book, but I loved all of April’s books. I had to read it all in one day lucky it’s only 3 hours. Cassie is so well written and funny and Jen is a great protagonist loved the way things worked out and of course Josh is just yummy.

This book had been languishing in my TBR list for almost two years before I started reading it. As seems to be the case when I've done this I had been missing an enjoyable book with an interesting premise, are devil's always bad and angels good?
