Descended (Children of Guerra, Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 9 ratings

Milena lost everything when she gave up being a spy and sided with the rebels to take down the Guerra Party - including her freedom. But when she wakes up back in her apartment, covered in scars and the evidence of the Guerras' torture, yet alive and free, she doesn't know what to make of it. Even more surprising is Nate's invitation to rejoin the very people who feel most betrayed by her. They need her, though, to free Alex from the Guerras' underground prison, and she'll need help from the most unlikely sources - the other agents. She's forced to round up her old friends to try to save her new ones, but convincing them seems impossible, and trusting them could be deadly.

Amanda Gibson was born in Chicago, Illinois but grew up in Columbus, Ohio before returning to Chicago to earn her Master of Arts in Writing and Publishing. She enjoyed getting to write about the city in her first young adult novel, Children of Guerra. Young adult books are her passion, and she loves the message of hope that is inherent in every single one. Whether it's science fiction, fantasy, or contemporary, she'll read anything with a good love story. She still lives in Chicago with her husband and two obligatory cats.

Why aren't more people reading this series? These are some of the best books I've read - and I read every day y'all! The non-stop action, smart dialogue, and character growth is so well written I feel like a blumbering idiot trying to put into words how much I appreciate these kind of books that make me think and feel. It's so much more than a lot of the silly dystopian books out there. Amanda Gibson definitely blows them out of the water. Lord, how do we get people to discover these gems?
All I can say is, read the Children of Guerra and this follow-up and you won't regret it! Can't wait for the next one -- please write faster Amanda!!!! I want more of Jonathan and Ophelia! My two favorite characters!
