RYLEE (The Rylee Adamson Epilogues Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 4,479 ratings

My name is Rylee and I was a Tracker.

The final battle is over and The Blood of the Lost was spilled. In the aftermath, the humans still have mysteries they call upon me for. Except I can no longer Track, and my new abilities terrify me.

A salvage is offered to me, and with it a chance to redeem myself. A missing girl, her brother desperate to find her. Simple and straightforward, this salvage should be a piece of cake - and a chance to learn some discipline with my powers.

Except the girl is somehow tied to the world of the Elementals, and with that comes a danger I could never have expected.

As I search for her, I realize it is not only her life that is on the line, but my soul and sanity as well, as the voices and unnatural needs in me grow more demanding.

If I am to save us both, I must face the darkness within; and this time, I must do it all by myself.

There are some characters you just can’t say goodbye to, and in the Rylee Adamson Epilogues, New York Times Bestselling Author Shannon Mayer delivers exactly what her readers asked for. More Rylee. More Liam. More Pamela. And More Lynchpin.

Top reviews from the United States

I have read the entire Rylee Adamson series, truly enjoyed every one (despite a lot of potty mouth ;-) ) and was very sad that the series had ended. Mind you, it was a good ending and I was content, except for the fact that I would not be getting my Rylee "fix" any more! Then I saw her current book (Epilogues) and was elated. There was a God after all! I am now only several chapters in the book, but felt compelled to offer this pre-review.

There are very few authors that can "drawn" me into their universe, much less keep me interested and looking forward to the next adventure. Colin Cotterill and Wayne Stinnett are two authors that come to mind, that let me immerse myself into the story. And now, Shannon Mayer, can be added to this list. Even now, not having finished the current book, I know that I will not be disappointed. Even now, I am enjoying myself tremendously with what I have read. And even now, I am looking forward to the following chapters.

Shannon has the gift of pacing her action, providing enough dialog to support both the characters and the scene and to get out of the way when her characters need to move. This book stands on it own, but shines even brighter if the reader has read the books the lead up to this one. I particularly like the seemingly effortless produced layers of characterization and scene design that allows one to get a feel of the character and/or the scene. This texture adds to the reading and as such provides the momentum that practically propels you from sentence to sentence, and chapter to chapter.

There is never the problem of understanding what she writes but just hoping that enough is written before the book ends. It is a very personable way to author a book and/or series. And with all that said and done, "even now" not having finished this book I am looking forward to the next!

Book Review
Rylee (Rylee Adamson Epilogues, Book 1)
By Shannon Mayer
10 Stars

I don’t know if it is because I love Rylee so much that I just get completely drawn into the books, but what ever it is, it has made it unfair for me to read other books sometimes. That said, lets review.

This book leaves off where the Rylee Adamson Series ended, like immediately. However, it can be read as a stand alone book. I do however, recommend (HIGHLY) to read the first series first.

This book is about how Rylee copes with her new life. Not just being a mom, but no longer being a “Tracker” in the magical sense. She has five kids now, is a vampire, and dealing with the loss of so many friends in her life. However, she knows she must still continue to find lost children. This follows her journey to do just that. She meets great new characters on the way to find a 16 year old girl who was severely abused. She also tests out her new vamp powers. Rylee is so desperate to find balance in her life, she doesn’t know if she could ever come back to Liam and be a family. She cannot deal with the fact she needs blood to survive. She considers herself one of the monsters she has always killed.

Now for the writing…DUH, she is amazing! Her style allows it to flow seamlessly through the mind. Its effortless! I found one typo, but at this point I don't care lol. I know this is likely the worst review I have ever written because I just love these books so much. I was however, worried that they wouldn’t be as good. This is a fantastic start to the series. ONE FLAW…it ended. It stops so fast and in a spot you never would have thought it would have stopped. I usually do not like cliff hangers like this, but because I love her so much I am ok with this one. All is forgiven LOL.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book and I'm happy to say that this was just as good as any of the other Rylee books. I finished pretty much in a day and that says everything. If you haven't read the other books in this series, stop and read them all first. Seriously!! You'll be lost otherwise.

This was about the changes that occurred with Rylee and her finding a way to come to terms with it. There were portions of the book that made me want to literally shake her because she was being ridiculous.

At the end of the last book I wasn't too fond of how this mixed in with Lark's story. We get a bit more of a mix now and if you read the books it will be quiet interesting. I am still holding out to see what will be done. Rylee's daughter seems to be destined for great things and I wonder if in some books to come we will skip years ahead.

That being said while this had a bit of the typical Rylee going to save a child thing, it was more about her saving herself and a good intro into a 'new' series. Another reviewer mentioned that they weren't sure how they felt about her ability to collect people and I have mixed feelings about it as well. It seems she is picking up people to replace what was lost. I can't wait to see how Shannon keeps things the same but more importantly changes them to show the difference between the old and the new Rylee. It's definitely worth the read and I highly recommend this book.

This was like meeting up with a friend you thought you'd never see again - and you realise it was like you had never been away and the conversation flowed, there was laughter, hugs and much rejoicing. This is the book equivalent. Rylee is back!! Yes she really is.

This is a story of discovery for Rylee, she is something different, something she doesn't recognise or feel at home with and despite the awesome story, this is very much about finding out who she is now. Along for the ride are many familiar faces, some we get to catch up with, others we just get a glimpse of. So no longer a tracker Rylee takes on a missing child case anyway and it takes her across the country to places new to her (and familiar to us if you've been reading the Elemental series) and allows her to give those daywalker skills an airing.

If you're reading this then you're probably as huge a fan as I am of Rylee Adamson, Lark and Shannon Mayer. This exceeds all expectations and I loved every second of it. Enjoy!

I received this book as an arc for a honest review..

Rylee is back and she has a new life but she has changed and needs to figure out who she is.
I loved this book and the new characters that have come about. If you haven't read the Rylee Adamson series do so before reading this one, oh and the elemental series as they both intertwine with each other..
I can't wait to read more of Rylee and her family plus the rest of the gang..
Thank you Shannon once again for a awesome read..

I'm so entrenched in this characters that everything that is written about them drags me in. Of course, Shannon Mayer is a very good writer who has strong and capable female stars in her books and that's what I love about them. I can then identify with them and stop feeling society's displeasure with a strong woman who says her mind, for awhile.
