Billet-Doux From A Dead Prisoner: Part II of the Unlikely Savior Trilogy Kindle Edition

4.9 4.9 out of 5 stars 25 ratings

Billy Stass died a violent death in prison at a young age. A year after his death, letters begin arriving in the mail, supposedly written by him and causing disruption in the lives of family and friends he left behind. Are the letters from Billy or is the source even more mysterious than a long-dead prisoner? And what do they mean?
Billet-Doux from a Dead Prisoner is second book of the Unlikely Savior Trilogy. Offering the same page-turning intrigue, Billet-Doux incorporates characters from the first novel and introduces a host of new ones, just as real and beloved as those in The Unlikely Savior. Like Part I, this novel is a tale of mystique drawing the reader into the realm of the unknown as the story weaves among locations throughout the United States. And like Part I, the story’s mysterious force will affect more than the characters; the outcome will impact the nation, if not the world.

Tammy Seley Elliott was born in Coffeyville, Kansas, later living in several towns and states, setting the stage for a life on the move. It could be argued that her less than conventional upbringing fueled her love of writing and reading; they were constants in an otherwise chaotic world. One thing she knew for sure was that she wanted to write books when she grew up.

She joined the United States Air Force at the age of twenty-one. Life in the service provided a new kind of stability and launched her onto an extended detour from the road to becoming a novelist. The journey was welcome, however, offering irreplaceable experiences which made it well worth the wait. She retired in 2011 and set to work on her first novel, The Unlikely Savior, Part I of the Unlikely Savior Trilogy, in 2012, completing it the same year. Her second novel, Billet-Doux from a Dead Prisoner, Part II of the Unlikely Savior Trilogy, was published in December, 2016. The final installment of the trilogy, Finding the Window, Part III of the Unlikely Savior Trilogy was released in 2020. A new novel, unrelated to the trilogy, but no less exciting, SKinKneader, will be released 9/1/2023. Her editors proclaimed this as her best novel yet...but only you can decide!

Her sons, Joey and Sam, are grown now and Tammy lives on the the side of a mountain in St Maries, Idaho with her husband Mike on what they call their "No-Drama-Zone" off an unpaved logging road. They share their home with their dogs and have a prominently displayed sign on the front door welcoming friends and family, but asking all to please check their religion and politics at the door! Tolerance, faith and love, however, are welcome.

I love how seamlessly the story line continues from the first book. New characters and old characters combine to carry the story forward. Great suspense!

I was so glad when Part II of the Unlikely Savior Trilogy was finally published. I really enjoyed the first book, and it left me anxiously waiting for the next one. Both books kept me pushing through chapter after chapter to see what was going to happen next. I easily became fully connected to the characters, and can’t wait to see what happens in Part III!

From the first page, I was caught up in these new characters that were interesting and so easy to visualize. The mystery of the letters and how they always seem to arrive at the right time and for their intended reader just heightens the sense of the supernatural. Overall, a great read, and a creative way of connecting back to the first book so well. Highly recommend this entire series!

I have read the first and second of the trilogy. Hard to put down...made my mind open up to interesting possibilities. I felt liberated as I traveled the different and oft twisted roads this wonderful book took me. Actually this holds true for both the first and second. Looking forward to the third! This author is capable of capturing me as a reader.

Having read Tammy Seley Elliott's first book, I eagerly awaited the second one. I must say that at the start I had no idea how all the new characters and the ones from the first book were going tol tie together. It was fascinating to see how this author made all these amazing and totally unexpected connections at the end!!! Well worth the reader's time. Now I'm eagerly awaiting the third part of this very unique trilogy! This is one very talented lady.

Wow. Loved this book; it was even better than the first one, Unlikely Savior. Character development was excellent, I found myself really caught up in wanting the best for them. Intriguing plot and well written. Can't wait for the final book in this trilogy!
