WITCH SUMMER NIGHT'S CREAM by H.Y. Hanna
The Third Bewitched by Chocolate Mystery

Caitlyn Le Fey is still somewhat amazed that she found her biological family in the Cotswolds village of Tillyhenge. And more amazed that she's an honest to goodness witch. As Caitlyn hones her chocolate making skills, as well as her magical ones, she discovers the dead body of a girl who recently bullied her cousin. Surely, Evie didn't have anything to do with the other girl's death...even though Evie loudly wished her dead...and can't always control her magick. Fortunately, there are other suspects in town including the nefarious chocolate factory owner who wants to buy the Widow Mags' recipes and the Shakespearean scholar looking to prove that the events surrounding A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM were based in fact. But could the murder actually be over a love potion?

H.Y. Hanna treats us to another adventure in the Cotswolds. In WITCH SUMMER NIGHT'S CREAM we get the delectable addition of Shakespeare. Not the bard himself, but a nutty professor besotted with THE MIDSUMMER'S NIGHT DREAM and his belief that Shakespeare created the play using facts and the very real village of Tillyhenge.

Hanna has a knack for creating laugh out loud scenes, but with people so true the situations are believable, even if outrageous!

The Bewitched by Chocolate series combines one of a kind characters in a bucolic setting with mouthwatering chocolates and a delightful splash of magick. The characters, although zany, are at the center very real and ultimately relateable. While humorous, there is a heartwarming charm to be found in Tillyhenge. H.Y. Hanna has created a depth of feeling within her characters providing readers not only plenty of laughs, but plenty of love as well.

This addition to the Bewitched by Chocolate Mystery Series by H Y Hanna takes a humorous twist from Shakespeare's Midsummer's Night Dream. Love potions, enchanted donkeys, and a delightful lover boy named Ferninand add humor to a light-hearted mystery. The fact that Ferninand is a bull and the donkey wasn't supposed to end up a donkey adds to the reader's delight. I usually don't like paranormal mysteries, but this series is proving to be full of fun, laughter and surprises. Because I don't read reviews that aren't verified purchases, I paid for my copy although I was given a preview by the author. Since I now have two copies, I read it twice. Laughed out loud both times, although I did have to go buy more chocolate. Enjoyed that twice too, btw.
The other thing is that I now have this strong urge to visit Stonehenge.

I absolutely love this series which features Caitlyn Le Fey, who has just discovered that she was adopted and has found part of her real family in Tillyhenge in the Cotswolds Countryside of England. Her newfound Grandmother Mags, owns a chocolate shop, Bewitched by Chocolate, and her creations, many say, are too wonderful to be just chocolate. Consequently, the villagers suspect Mags of being a witch and shun her shop, where Caitlyn now lives, and has begun learning the chocolate-making "craft" from her Grandmother, which may involve a bit of magic.

With Midsummer's Eve approaching, Evie tells Caitlyn that the Widow Mags has secretly been adding a bit of a love potion to her chocolate sauce, that has everyone a bit giddy and chocolate-crazy. Then all havoc breaks loose in Tillyhenge, from a break-in at Bewitched by Chocolate where the love potion goes missing, to the murder of a teenage girl. When her cousin, Evie, is suspected of the murder, it is up to Caitlyn to find the real murderer and the stolen love potion to clear Evie's name.

Witch Summer Night's Cream is truly a delightful book, and I would recommend reading it with some really good chocolates nearby. I cannot wait for the next installment in this wonderful series which I know you will enjoy as much as I have.

No, I won't write a spoiler but Caitlin did some awesome witching and, of course, solved the mystery.
She has a reward coming from karma. Does she get it? I think so.

Thank goodness that Evie has cousin Caitlyn to work on solving the murder. When Evie is arrested, the police believe that they have the murderer. This is another entertaining H. Y. Hanna novel. Keep 'em coming!

I simply cannot get enough of H.Y. Hanna"s books!! I love all of the series that she has out. I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I will just say that if you are looking for an awesome cozy mystery, I highly recommend the Bewitched by Chocolate Series by H.Y. Hanna!!

The books are fast, easy, predictable reads, and I roll my eyes every time the heroine has to make it perfectly clear in each book over and over again that’s she’s not really American. It’s to the point where it’s annoying and insulting. Give it a rest. I think I’ll stop at book 3.

Who knew there really is a love potion. At least in Tillyhenge there is, in the form of the widow Mag's chocolate sauce and people are trying to steal it.
With Midsummer eve coming in a few days there is the crooked chocolate executive and the funny little professor who is searching for it to prove his theory on Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream.
And then Evie, who is desperate to get Chris Bottom to like her.
With chocolate fangs, a donkey, and a love sick bull humor is in abundance. But also is the reminder of what can happen when some people decide playing witches' coven will be fun.
H.Y. Hanna has out done herself with this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute as always, but...

I really bonded with Caitlyn, her cousin and all the other main characters. This part of the series was as entertaining, bewitched and cute as the past two.
However, the story started to drag out a bit much, and I was wondering a few times when it would come to the point and develop further. The end made up for it and I was rewarded for my patience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Midsummer Magic.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 2, 2017
This I thought was the best book of the trilogy. The characters were more interesting and the Mid-Summer Magic angle was well thought out. I really liked the tie in with A Midsummer Night's Dream. I still have a bit of a problem coming to grips with the animosity of the village people towards Mag. I also find the village life a bit confined in comparison with "Tearoom Mysteries". I would like to see Caitlyn get out and about a bit more, I know from being a regular customer at the "Oxford Tea Room" Caitlyn has been a visitor now and again. Maybe she should go shopping a bit more. I was a bit taken a back with the inclusion of the "black magic"" part. However it did add an extra interest to the story. The man in black and his speedy arrival and departure added a bit more mystery, which I am sure will come to light in future episodes. A Good Read.
