Interessantes interpretações sobre origens de muitos conceitos religiosos.
O autor faz muitas interpretações dos textos bíblicos sem dizer suas fontes ou fundamentar seu ponto de vista. Por exemplo diz que o cristianismo foi aceito pelos não judeus por ser fácil. Todo cristão sabe que isso não é uma verdade.
Outro exemplo: "Jesus parece ter demonstrado pouco interesse em exigir que as pessoas se arrependessem de seus pecados." Esquece que Jesus dizia "vai e não peques mais".
Ainda assume coisas que hoje se sabe não serem verdades. Ex.: "prostituta arrependida Maria Madalena."
O livro só é interessante pois conta uma história bem diferente de como a maioria interpreta a Bíblia, aproximando-se de histórias ficcionais modernas recheadas de conexões criativas.
Uma parte complementar é o relato de seitas que surgiram, filosóficas ou religiosas.
