About the author
At one point in Dianne's life she believed that people grew up and when they did they stopped reading Fantasy. She discovered that life without Fantasy was soon out of kilter. She never planned to be an author, but a chance week at a retreat centre dropped the idea for a story into her head. When not writing fiction, Dianne spends her time writing non-fiction. Dianne seeks to help people discover the treasure of their own true selves so they can embark on their own hero's quest. Dianne lives with her husband Doug, his three cats and her beloved dog Thomas.
Dianne says, "It seems I have always been drawn to dragons. There is the dragon tea pot, with a spout that doesn't really work. There is the dragon necklace. And the only stuffed toy I've ever bought for myself was a dragon. Someone once asked me what kind of animal. There was a look of shock on her face when I said dragon. So it only makes sense that when I write a book there would be dragons in it."

A great read for young and old alike.
As a dragonborn, Zinc is naturally hard-headed. Add the fact he’s a prince Chosen to save his father and I’m sure you can imagine how peaceful the quest begins. Yeah… there’s no way a prince is going to think of himself as an equal to any of the other Chosen – especially a brownie!! In case you don’t remember, brownies exist for the sole purpose of serving their dragonborn masters.
The group is to meet up with Watcher Zachery on the world of Farne. We won’t be too harsh with Zachery. How many centuries do you think you could live through without having anyone to talk to or anything decent to eat while living on a near-dead planet without going mad? I wasn’t sure if the Chosen had arrived in time to save the Watcher from himself, but I suppose the Guardian knows what he’s doing.
Surprisingly, a few of the Chosen were gifted with a unique ability. The Watchers have never experienced such a gift and therefore have no advice to give. This is one of parts making this book a favorite, so no spoilers revealed.
The other reason I love this book are the lessons learned. Humility. Respect for all beings. Teamwork. Healing.
There is so much more I’d love to elaborate on, but I won’t ruin the excitement of discovery for you. I will say Zargon has been given a few challenges of their own. I hope the dragonborn are ready for some change. I also hope Mack will be able to survive those in his charge.

Like the other books in the series, this fantasy deals with issues as old as time. Deep hatred and prejudice enslave a gentle race held as prisoners. Add in environmental destruction, climate change, and just the right number of evil beasts and it is clear the gifts given to the searchers will be tested time and time again until they are exhausted. However, they learn to trust each other and themselves on the journey and their quest to find Zane and for "re-genesis" on Farne is an exciting one.
My favourite character is the title character Moses, a little brownie who has come from Zargon and just might lead his people to freedom.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series for its realistic portrayal of human nature. The series has an underlying goodness and decency that makes it suitable for readers of all ages.
