Twists and turns. Found family. Fate. War.

Max has finally found everything she never dared dream of. Family, friends, and love. She has more to lose than ever before. With lines being drawn in the sand and sides being chosen, the future from her nightmares seems set in motion.

Ryker was a miserable bastard for years before Max barged into his life and turned his whole world upside down. And now there was no denying that he was blissfully whipped. But who would have thought that winning Max’s heart wasn’t the real fight?

With the rot at the centre of their society uncovered and the hidden threat identified, Max and Ryker must unite all citizens – wardens, paladins, rangers, and chades – if they are to defeat their common enemy. With a goddess on their side, how hard can it be?

Wow this book was incredible and Montana Ash did not disappoint! I was a little nervous because I didn't connect to the last two books as I had the first two, but this one was amazing and blew me away! I will go ahead and say my critiques even though I hate to. I didn't particularly like the different view points. I liked how the main focus was on certain characters in the first couple of books, but having sparatic and sudden view changes gave me some whiplash and wasn't what I preferred because it gave me a disconnected feeling. I think the battle was a little rushed and revealing who was lost at the end was sort of an afterthought and I just wished for more. Also, the cover of the book was a little weird and didn't seem to go with the image the other books had for me. Okay, now that's over so now I can gush about the book! I loved how everything wasn't out in the open with Max and that she didn't reveal her per-cognitive (yes used from the book) knowledge to try and save some suffering (besides one person but you have to read the book to see). I loved the realness in Max and how much she felt even though she was this all powerful being. This series is what got me into romance books and I am so glad this one was it because come on its the best! Having said that I wish their was more detail in the extremely brief sex in this book, but I have a feeling the author did that on purpose because the center of this book was essentially the war. I even stopped to read a bit through the day even though I was free because I just didn't want this book to end. I was sad/ecstatic to find that there will be another book, but now I have to wait for the next book and I am chomping at the bit already! I know if someone has reservations about the last book, trust me I didn't particularly lean towards it myself, but this book is amazing and I can't wait for other people to read this book as well. Thanks Montana Ash!

This book was amazing. It's definitely not a standalone read. If you read the series so far you will understand when I say this book is the culmination of so many things. I can basically describe it as a come to Jesus book.... a book of reckoning and a total badass read.
It has it all. Love, vengeance, answers to some questions, fun and revenge the Max way.... which means total justice in a badass way.
I was on a rollercoaster of emotions on this adventure... I laughed, especially at Ryker when Max want to have some fun... and he said:“But … water is wet,” he tried valiantly not to sound like he was whining." I could see this big, brave, tattooed and pierced warrior pout at his woman!!! And she did something that only Max could do.... yip you can read all about it... don't worry it's at the beginning.
The you have the whole gang and you get to know more about Mordecai and how Max came to be... you get to know the how things came to be and just how rotten their society had become.
But there were good fun moments that will make you feel like you want to climb into this book and have part of it... hot triplets and just all round hot and deadly alphaness.
I loves that everyone is protective over our pregnant Cali... but just as scared... many friendship have been renewed and some were finally seen for what they were...
But in the end, everything was as it were to play out. You may laugh, cry and all that. But you feel worried and cry.
And when all the vengeance has been served and the final act is done... you will need to read what happens.
But there is always hope and possibilities ... that is what Max is all about.
Loved this book and can't wait for the next book... like yesterday...

Really enjoy this series and this author as it never fails to entertain especially as it nears the end. Max continues to delight us with her mixture of innocence and wisdom and the cliffhanger ending is perfect.
The Australian setting is beautifully woven into the world-building and all the characters retain their loveable qualities. Can’t ask for more.

I don't like romance novels because, theoretically, they are based on real life and real life is never like that. However, once you put some paranormal stuff in there, it suddenly seems acceptable, like sci-fi and fantasy/sword'n'sorcery, and that I can accept and relish. You come to feel for each character, and each character (well, almost except for the last 2 which Ash promises to fill out in the next two in this series) is an individual and almost someone you might know or at least wish you did know. I'm not sure how her premise of balancing the world works even though she tries to explain it, still a lot of loose ends and "that makes no sense" going on. Still, it's a fun read. For me, sex is a vital part of life, it's part of what makes living so much fun, that "special" interaction between intimate partners, and her "sex scenes" are not as graphic and nasty as some regular writings I've read, all of them are within normal ranges of making love, no one is being forced or hurt or humliated or used, so it feels perfectly fine and it's nice when people love one another and come to trust one another. As with LOTR and Harry Potter, and just about any gripping series, the mere thought that this is going to end in 2 more books has already got me sighing and whining inside. The ONLY thing I detest about this series, and just about any other series like this are the damn covers! I'd prefer some beautiful pictures of Australia or some abstract impression of the heraldry or something; those pictures of people on the covers are creepy, plus I despise "publishers" or whoever decides these things forcing and image upon the readers--I would think anyone who gets into these books has a very healthy and vivid imagination already and we don't need some stupid editor/publisher trying to impress one on us, especially since it's probably he/she hasn't even bothered to read the books (and has no idea what the cover image ought to look like).

5.0 out of 5 stars An Epic Climactic Addition To This Addictive Series.

Once again the story in this installment knocked my socks off; I devoured it!

I'm already a fan of Montana Ash's writing style; the pace she sets her plots and the balance she creates in her gripping stories between heartfelt emotion, action and humour. I love that the characters she has created in the Elemental Paladins world are complex souls that exhibit all the traits that I crave; intelligence, camaraderie, humour and a predisposition to love unconditionally even when they are damaged and flawed by their life experiences.

As I have already mentioned, Custodian brought out a myriad of emotions; fear, fury, yummy tingles and yes, I did bawl my eyes out (no, I won't tell you how often or when so stop asking) but I also smiled and chuckled out loud plenty of times too, usually at the banter between the members of Max's rather unique Order. ;-)

Custodian is the fifth book in this series and doesn't centre around a specific romance like the previous books, instead it brings the background story arc into the spotlight. It's a truly fantastic book and I can't wait to read what happens next in Revolution.

As with the rest of the books in this series, due to the sexual scenes, colourful vocabulary and expletives present throughout, I would recommend this book to adults who are not offended by content of this nature who love stories about kickass heroines and damaged alphas within the adult paranormal romance genre with story-lines about the bonds of true friendship, over-coming insurmountable odds and fighting for what's right despite the costs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Une bonne conclusion

5.0 out of 5 stars Seriously good book

Seriously good book. Loved it, I cried and I laughed and I got pissed off. Sometimes a series loses the plot by the 5th book but this one kept true To the plot and on track. I loved how the author doesn't drag out the fight scenes forever. They are just the right length to keep it interesting. And she's not afraid to kill off characters. Seriously, Montana Ash your books just keep getting better and better. Congratulations ❤️❤️

Passende Zusammenführung der ersten Bände der Serie mit einem kleinen Cliffhanger am Ende. Solide Nebenbei-Lektüre. Keine fünf Sterne, weil irgendwie zudem doch etwas zu sexlastig.
