4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 353 ratings

Police Captain Harvey Larson’s exhausting day takes a big detour when a teenaged girl approaches him at the diner, announcing that she is his daughter. When Harvey is on his way home from work a few hours later, his sister-in-law Abby calls him. She went to meet her husband for a dinner date and found a dead man on the floor at his place of business, and Peter has vanished. Harvey calls in his detectives and turns his car around. It’s going to be a long night, too. Once again, Harvey depends on his wits, his faith, and his squad, the Priority Unit, to solve a tough case and carry out Maine Justice.

I am not ready to leave this family! I love all the characters and need to know how they get along through life. Will Harvey & Jennifer have more babies? Will Eddie & Leeann? What about Tony? And the new detective in the unit? Susan Page Davis, you must NOT leave me in limbo like this! Every one of theeven books in this series is awesome. And I have loved how one couple's curiosity about God led them to salvation along with so many others whose lives they touched. More books like this, please!

I loved these faith-based suspense books. It is so unusual for me to not figure out the outcome ten pages into a book, but this series kept me guessing until the end. I loved the character development as well. Thank you for a fantastic series of books. I didn’t want to put them down

I have read this entire series and was not disappointed. However I think Tony Winfield deserves his spotlight as well as Sarah Benoit. And one last reunion with the Wainthrop family won't hurt.

When I began reading the Maine Justice series, I didn't expect to get hooked on the entire series but I did. I'm on my 2nd round of the entire collection. Very well written, keeps your imagination wanting more!

This has been a delightful series! I feel like I would know Harvey and Jennifer if they walked down the street! I love the inter play of family, the Lord, and he different cases they were working on! I highly recommend it!

Well, THIS installment of the Maine Justice Series starts off with a bit of mystery and then just ramps it up with nonstop action!!!! It might be the best one yet, but I've loved them all so I don't want to rank them.
As I have mentioned before in reviews of this series, these books are great CLEAN reads if you don't like the usual level of violence that accompanies police procedurals and the like. There's plenty of action and romance without all of the details, which I appreciate more and more in my reading.
I would highly recommend this book and wouldn't hesitate to offer it to a mature teen either. And I was relieved to hear that Susan may do more books in this series!

This series is a great depiction of the difficulties life throws our way and the triumph that comes with unwavering faith in the face of danger and challenges. Each story pulled me in and had me rooting for the main characters as well as on the edge of my seat in places.

The characters in this series deal with real emotions. Not just a surface issue with a typical happily-ever-after. From depression and insecurity to life-threatening suspense this series has it all. It deals with real relationships and their issues including a May-December marriage, relationships with friends and family and the life surrounding police officers in the field.

I loved this series. It’s well worth the cost and time to read.

I loved the other books in this series but this one fell just a bit flat. Not nearly as good as the others.
