The Hawking clan is ready to celebrate the holidays, but when their beloved dog, Blackie goes missing, the entire Black Swan family pulls together to make sure he’s found and brought home.

The Knights of Black Swan is one of my favorite series and Ram and Elora are definitely my favorite couple from these books. Catching up with their clan, including Blackie as well as the rest of the Black Swan Knights is such an amazing gift to fans of this series from the author.

What I truly loved about this book was was the unique perspective of hearing part of the take from Blackie’s point of view. The author also did an amazing job of recapping Blackie’s role in the series and how he came to be a part of the Hawking family as well as unofficial teammate of the Black Swan Knights, which allows new fans to jump right in to this book.

This book includes some fantastic twists and turns and the pulse pounding adventure fans of the series have come to expect from Victoria Danann. As always, it also focuses on the love and support the Knights and their families feel for one another. 4.5 stars for Blackie’s holiday tale!

This is a rather short, but touching dog tale. The prologue retells the story of when Blackie and Elora were both injured and took shelter in a wolf den, where Elora proceeds to give birth. This reminds us of the bond between Blackie and Elora and then between Blackie and Elora's son, Helm. Readers won't understand most of what the characters are doing in this short story unless they have read other books in the series. It is NOT a good stand-alone. The story was sweet, but disappointingly short.

Victoria Danann is a master storyteller. I have read everything she has written and NEVER read a bad book. Black Dog Is a story rich in emotions and relationships. Especially between a dog and his humans. Many of the characters are ones you will recognize if you have read the previous books in The Black Swan series. But this book stands on its own so even if you have never read one of those books you won’t be lost. Unless you get lost in the story, lose all track of time and cannot put it down until the very last page. It is a simply wonderful book that will make you laugh, cry and maybe even yell at a character or two. I can most DEFINITLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK, VERY HIGHLY.

OMG!!!!!! What a fabulous tale! I have loved every one of the Black Swan tales and this is no exception! To have a tale told from the point of view of a dog is amazing but to combine it with characters we already know is brilliant!!
Blackie, Elora's dog is kidnapped (dognapped!) by dog fighters and this is the tale of how he gets back home! IT is a tale of courage, faith and love and worthy of the series!

I have read 15 books in this series, and each book is filled with wonderful characters and the most magical and imaginative scenarios I have ever encountered. A delight and never dull. This book is actually 3 in the series. When I read the last (Irish War Cry) chapter 8 ended in mid sentence. The following 3 chapters were missing, except for headings. I was disappointed because I love these book and feel like I missed Torn and Shers story, but was able to finish the book without a problem. Please fix edit problem, because these books are a national treasure.

There was a great buildup in this story and then a rather abrupt ending. I was surprised. I've purchased all the other books in the series as well as the carnal, crave, charming three. I don't know if it's because it's the last one that it felt so rushed but the same thing happened with charming. It was the last and I finished it in two hours. This book took even less time.

I love, and have, each of Victoria's books, and personally think she should be tied to her keyboard so she writes quicker. Lol.
