Live, Laugh, Masturbate: Words that take on more significance with each passing year Kindle Edition
Laughter is a hallmark of perseverance. In the face of overwhelming obstacles, we can always reserve the right to laugh. Jim Valvano understood that notion well:
We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day.
Like Valvano, I believe that laughter is a critical aspect of the human spirit, even when discussing darker subjects such as cancer, something else we both had in common.
While not every story in this book relates directly to either of my cancer experiences, most do. At the age of nine, my life was turned upside down by the disease and from that day forward I would never be the same. My confidence, my personality, the way I look at the world, my appearance, and my overall quality of life have all been influenced by cancer’s presence. I sometimes wonder how my life would have been different without it, because I can’t deny that cancer has shaped who I am, sometimes for the worst and sometimes for the better. This book reflects that dichotomy in the stories it tells – hilarious stories of triumph, tragedy, television and (usually self) titillation.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

You have to read this. It's laugh out loud funny and yet the inspirational message of overcoming cancer twice comes through loud and clear. The ending was spot on perfect. I was rooting for Randall by that point! Read this. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait for what he writes next!

Did I read this book purely because of the title? Yes. Yes I did.

Also, the author is really funny and friendly on twitter so I thought I'd risk the always-a-lottery world of self published books. But surprise, it's a funny book and worth the read! The story of one mans battle with childhood illness and attempts, in later life, to get laid may not sound like the background for an entertaining story but there you go. Recommended.
