Review
A magical and heartwarming story that takes place in a wonderful setting that exudes magic and a peaceful atmosphere. The story is a little on the short side which has readers wishing the events and depth could have been explored more, but for the most part one can't help but enjoy this entertaining read full of strong, captivating characters and a heartwarming romance. The plot is fast paced, and readers will be glued to the pages with magic, sweet romance, a mystery, a ghost, family and friends and someone up to no good. The story takes place over quite a span of time, so readers get a real feel for Mercy and Silvanus's story, which is further enhanced by the wonderful holiday events that are celebrated throughout, and readers find themselves likening this tale to a "Hallmark Moment" that cheers the heart and puts smiles on their faces!

I could just feel all the warmth, love and magic flowing through Mystic Maples with Mercy and her flowers not to mention the handsome stranger Sil. I could feel the love and warmth between the people of the town as well as Mercy and Sil's families.
The scenes with all the holidays stood out for me. I could see them in my mind as if I was watching a movie. Speaking of movies I think Mystic Maples would make a great lifetime movie. You know one of those movies that you would want to watch on a cold winter's day snuggled up on the sofa with your favorite person someone dear to your own heart with maybe a fire burning in the fireplace and it is snowing out. That is how Mystic Maples made me feel all warm and cozy inside.
I would recommend Mystic Maples to all fans of love and cozy hometown magical stories.

From the Author
I had a blast writing this book. A bit of time-travel,mystery, and magic is the small town of Willow Springs makes for a fun romanticadventure and an escape for the reader.
Earth/Fire witch, Mercy'sinsatiable curiosity finds her trespassing under a full moon on enchanted land. The owner discovers her and sparks fly, both figuratively and physically.
If you look close at the cover, you'll see that Mercy has oneblue and one green eye, just like my character. Sil, the hero is absolutelyswoon-worthy, don't you think?
Silvanus is notwithout his secrets. His gypsy/fae blood has always been a thorn in his side. But when Mercy discovers his secrets, hiswell-orderedlife unravels and they're catapulted into the past to right a wrong. What fun!!
From the Inside Flap
She toed off her shoes, pulled offher socks and straightened. With a snap of her fingers she left the roomwithout a sound and landed smack dab at the edge of the maple trees. Glancingaround, she could see the house in the distance and the outline of the sign."Good, I'm in the right place."She wandered farther in among the trees, the dirt beneath her feet wascool. Wiggling her toes deeper into the earth, she felt the warmth of the dayand something else--a connection.
Several trees had a slight glow tothem, then it was gone. Am I imagining...Sheraised her arms out from her sides and turned her face to the starlit skyletting the magic surge through her. Ithad been almost a year since magic of any kind called to her. It felt so good, she was lost in the moment.
Suddenly a male voice broke throughher revelry. "What are you doing here?"
Her heart thundered in her chest. She hadn't heard a sound. Yet, there he was standing not three feet from her, hands on hips, and glaring at her.

In this case, Mercy Rose is a witch visiting from Colorado and staying at the Inn. She thought she'd have an extended stay - something like six months - but when she gets there, they've only booked her for two weeks. When one of the locals overhears the problem, he offers her his guest cottage so that she doesn't have to change her plans.
The local in question is Silvanus Forrest, who owns the local sugaring operation, supplying maple syrup to the local restaurants and shops. His family has owned the land for generations, and it's infused with magic that calls to Mercy. The couple are drawn to one another and although they fight the attraction, they can't resist. Sil's mother was fae, so Mercy's witchy magic doesn't startle him in the least. And Mercy doesn't try at all to hide her magic from anyone, which felt a little odd to me having lived in Vermont (as an Innkeepers daughter) for years - I know we're all live-and-let-live, but c'mon. Really?
One of the best parts of this story - and the great tie-in with the rest of the books in this series - is the fact that Mercy can see and chat with the Inn's resident ghost, who's mentioned in several of the other books in this series (if not all of them.) The ghost actually plays a pivotal role in helping Mercy and Sil shed light on family issues from his past.
Told in third person from both Mercy and Sil's perspectives, this is a light paranormal romance. Ms. Stetler has a knack for writing paranormal characters that "normalize" the paranormal - they make magic seem like just another characteristic, like hair color or job description. It's like being on the "inside" of the paranormal world, knowing what's going on with the various subgenres of magical beings out there.
Looking for a cute, fun paranormal romance set in a lovely locale and with the added bonus of an adorable dog? Look no further.
My favorite part of this was the gypsy angle. Maybe I don’t read enough paranormal romance, but gypsies aren’t something I’ve encountered a lot. I wish there’d been more of that. The traveling lifestyle, the interesting clothing—it’s all just so neat.
Mercy and Sil are a great couple. Their arc as a couple is satisfying (both in and out of the bedroom). As I sometimes do, I thought the relationship got going a bit on the fast and soon side. This seems to be a tendency of paranormal that just isn’t for me. Those who like that aspect won’t be disappointed.
While the romance was fleshed out, the other parts of the story felt a little underplayed. There’s the mystery of Sil’s land and the time travel to solve it. Without spoiling, that entire thing felt rushed. It became a known issue, and then suddenly, it was resolved. I was left feeling a bit lost, like I’d missed something.
Something else I really enjoyed was the maples. The setting felt so real. I’d have no trouble believing this was a real place. If it is, I want to visit. If not, oh well. Just the descriptions of trees, especially at night, were beautiful.
Overall, this is a quick swoony/sexy read for paranormal or fantasy romance lovers to easily fall into. I think it’s part of a series, so if this sounds good, keep an eye out for more.
