Ruby hits it out of the park again with this Risdaverse entry. Leilani and Tassar are hawt and spicy, cozy and sweet. Highly recommend!

Just like the other stories that I read of this series (and yes I have been reading them out of order). I enjoyed this story very much. It’s novella length, so it’s a quick read and you get both POV’s.

This story’s about human Leilani, who was abducted a few years back from earth and is now living on the planet Risda III, a farm planet where human women can live in freedom and have a farm. But sadly, the single women are now the victim of dangerous alien men who want their farm and will use any method to get their way. So again the human women are in a dangerous situation. That’s why Leilani is prepared to marry a stranger, a mesakkah. A big blue-skinned alien, with horns and a tail. Tassar is on the run, he’s an ex-convict who’s looking for a place to live in peace and call home. He’s open to a marriage of convenience to human and more so when he meets Leilani, she may look different then him but he thinks she’s beautiful in a delicate way. From the beginning there is a connection between them but Tassar promised Leilani that they would only share a bed when she’s ready so now Tassar has to prove to Leilani that he’s the right man for her. That he will protect her against danger and that she can trust him. But others want Leilani’s land and they will try their best to get it in one way or another.

‘When she’s ready’ was a light and entertaining read. Although Leilani was abducted and had bad experiences in the past, it’s never discussed extensively in the story. The writer kept the story light and fun. Leilani had a bubbly character, she’s cheerful, a bit shy at times with Tassar. She was friendly, brave, honest and she liked to talk (a lot!). Tassar was intelligent, thoughtful, protective, possessive and hard-working. And while he gave Leilani time to adjust to their new situation as a married couple that didn’t mean, he didn’t use his charm and dirty words to seduce her into accepting him as her mate. I really enjoyed the banter between them and their acceptance and respect of the other. There were a few sexy scenes in the story and they were hot. At the end we got an epilogue too. I loved that!

I enjoyed this novella, the storyline and characters. It is a quick read, but the story is well written. I like that it is a complete book, and made me want to read more from the series. The book was a enjoyable to read because it didn't have to much drama and angst. It was so nice to read something that didn't frustrate and irritate my emotions. I will reading more in this series and hoping for the same relaxed and easy read.

This was a great short story about Leilani, a human woman taking refuge on a farm planet who needs a husband for protection. And, of course they fall in love. I'll admit that I'm a sucker for the marriage of convenience trope, but this one was done so well. Especially given how short it is. Tassar is completely devoted to Leilani (as he should be) which makes this so much fun to read.

Three Thoughts:
1. Tassar is the king of consent - and I'm here for it.
2. She’s my home now. *swoon*
3. Love the bonus epilogue - it was the perfect way to end the story.

This is the perfect story when you want something short and sweet that will leaving you smiling.

If I hadn’t gotten blue cl!t from the lack of tasting on Tassar’s part, it would’ve been a higher rating… because the 🔥 is so good and had me wanting more, but I’m not a fan of all talk and no bite😑. In this case, Tassar was hungry for a taste and we never saw him tasting 😒

🤡😅

Tassar was a prisoner of war and just came out of jail. He gets approached by a friend who’s mated with a human and he tells him that Leilani needs to get married so that she can be more protected since there are people/beings trying to take land from females (or they k!ll them). Female humans were forcibly brought to this planet and Lord va’Rin gave them land.

Leilani doesn’t know what to expect when she meets her soon-to-be husband. When she meets him, she can’t believe how handsome, muscular, and tall he is 😅. She realizes he might be disappointed with the fact that she’s not a small woman.

Good thing he loves every thick, round, voluptuous inch on her 😮‍💨. More cushion for the pushin 😉.

What I liked: POSSIBLE SPOILERS
- the tension🔥. Holy f. If these two’s gazes could make babies, then they would’ve had a team of them popping out of Leilani 😮‍💨. I love me some good tension, and we had it here (although brief, but enough for me to know they want each other 😅).

—The learning to kiss scene. JEEEZUS CHRIST 🥵. That Tassar was making me melt into a puddle of goo 💦. There’s something about Ruby Dixon’s writing that makes me 🔥 from a learning-to-kiss scene more so than lots of full on smeex scenes out there 😬

—the d👀. the spur and ridges on Tassar’s d makes me envy Leilani and all the women in this world 😑. Nah, just kidding. I’m happy for you Leilani 😒 really happy for you 😐. See how happy I am? 😌. I’m not jealous… at all 😶.

Sigh. Anywayssssss… back to my review lol…

—how protective and JP he is. He sees. He claims 🤷🏻‍♀️. I love that energy in my Hs. He’s wary of other males. Good. Be wary 💁🏻‍♀️

—the funny moments. Omg I smiled and giggled so many times. Even when the scenes were 🔥 ones, his fascination was warming 😅

—the epilogue was so cute 😅🤣❤️

What I wanted more of:
— 👅… 😑… 😐

—that it was longer. I think the other books in the series are longer.

—more 🔥. We get one full scene.

Overall, I loved it

Leilani is a woman from Hawaii, who was abducted by Aliens, freed and got assigned a farm on a backwater planet. Tassar is mesakkah, who comes from the prison planet haven and he wants to marry a human to be in safety and she wants to marry him to have protection. She only wants sex with him, when she's ready and Tassar takes this very seriously.
Ms.Dixon did a very fine job writing this romantic novella. Both are very sensitive and empathetic with each other. I enjoyed very much reading the novella. I hope there is to come more of this.

Ruby Dixon, you did it again! I have yet to not love any of your books. Always predictably good!!! Great short story with sexy, hot moments that will get you hot and bother.... Leilani needs to marry to keep her land and herself safe. Tassar is a ex con looking for a new beginning. This was supposed to be a marriage of convenience but none of them saw each other coming. Great plot, great likeable characters and great writing. You couldn't ask for more. Highly recommended

Lots of fun and short. Classic Ruby Dixon banter and dialogue which makes it an amusing read as usual. Glad to know there are novellas like this out there.
