The sexy banter was off the charts in this book!! I loved these two characters together!
This book was amazing. It had the suspense of a military operation, the craziness of a behind the scenes talent competition and two individuals who were so into each other they burned up the pages.

A.J. is a force to be reckoned with. She can seem to pull things together like no ones business. She is amazing at her job. From whinny talent, to the press and to having to answer to her boss, she juggles everything beautifully. And when things can't get more stressful they become a possible target for terrorists. However, this does put her in the path of Kane.

Kane is one fine man!!! Not only is he amazing at his job, but he can charm the pants off of a lady. I loved reading about him getting jealous of his teammates when they flirted with A.J. just to get a rise out of him.

The suspense in the book was off the charts. Even while you were reading a funny or sexy part, the bad guys were close by and you as a reader knew it. This is a "have you on the edge of your seat" type of book. I couldn't put it down.

What an amazing book. I started reading it and literally did not stop until I was done.With engaging characters, interesting storyline, humor, danger, intrigue, and smexy-times, this book held my attention from start to finish. I have enjoyed many of Caitlyn O'Leary's previous series involving Navy Seals and the women who love them. As a wife of a retired Special Ops man, I appreciate the way Caitlyn portrays these very special military men. To some these Alpha males can seem domineering, overbearing and misogynistic. But Caitlyn O'Leary captures the real heart of these men, the drive to protect the ones they love, their sense of honor and their willingness to sacrifice their very lives for their country ,the mission and their families. It takes a special woman to love these men, and here Caitlyn also excels. The females in her novels are no pushover. Strong, independent and able to take care of themselves, they insist on being an equal partner in a relationship. These female characters will stand up in a fight if needed but recognize their men's love language enough to know when to stand down. In Caitlyn O'Leary's stories I recognize my own relationship and many of the things that hubby and I shared as time went by. While I read to escape reality and demand my fiction includes happily ever after not always found in the real world; I appreciate that Caitlyn develops relatable characters.

"Her Ruthless Protector" is the first book in another spin-off series, Night Storm. Caitlyn O'Leary introduces another Special Ops team in this novel starting with Kane McNamara. The mission and thus the setting are very original. I think that's what drew me to this novel in the first place. I am use to finding SEALS in the desert ( usually that's strictly my guy and his Army Special Ops team's arena) but a televised reality Music Show in Arab country is definitely a new venue! I loved how Caitlyn O'Leary slowly reveals how this mission makes sense. As usual she manipulates the plot and characters perfectly, including plenty of twists and turns to heighten the suspense and breath-holding terror. Caitlyn then softens the mood by interspering stolen moments of romance and mind-blowing love scenes. Overall, "Her Ruthless Protector" is a masterful mix of fantasy romance and believable action. I couldn't put it down! Once I finished I immediately ordered the next two books in the series.

Just an aside, while this is a stand alone novel in that there is no cliffhangers; it does reference other characters from previous series. If you are new to Caitlyn O'Leary I might suggest you also read some of her other series to understand some of these other teams. Even as a longtime fan of Caitlyn I find myself itching to re-read Black Dawn, Midnight Delta and other series!

Her Ruthless Protector: Night Storm 1 has remained one of my favorites, of all of her books. Kane and A.J. make a wonderful couple, their story is engaging and draws you in so you are pulling for a happy ending. The backgrounds and supporting cast make you hunger to know their individual stories. I couldn’t wait to find out what happens in their story, but at the same time never wanted the book to end! I highly recommend this book!

This book was an okay read. It was disappointing to me. I expected more. However, the sex scenes were too graphic and too long and I sometimes couldn’t get past all of the factions that kept being mentioned in the book. It read like more of a military / political book, than a suspense / romance book. The plot was a little weak for me and this book seems to hop around, from one thing to another, from time to time.

I will say that I liked all of the characters. Especially A.J. She handled her business. I liked the many names that Kane kept calling A.J. (Because she wouldn’t tell him what the initials stood for in her name).

PLOT: Kane and his team have been assigned to find out the venue that terriorist have targeted. The targeted area is way bigger than they had anticipated.

A.J. is one of the Executive Producers in charge of a yearly live show, that is similar to “America’s Got Talent” and she knows how to handle her business. Both her and Kane take an instant attraction to each other and find time in their busy schedules, to have sex. Although, Kane wants more from her than just sex. A.J. is reserved in the area of getting into a relationship with Kane, due to her own personal issues.

I love these suspenseful romances! A.J. was great at organizing and getting people what they wanted for the many television shows she managed. She was in Oman managing an international show similar to Who’s Got Talent. Kane was with the Navy Seals on a secret project in Oman. The military have identified four possible events that may be targeted to kill everyone. Kane and his team were assigned to this venue to find all the holes that someone could get in there to murder everyone. I loved the chemistry between Kane and A.J. It was so funny how Kane tried to guess what her initials stood for. There were so many suspenseful actions that had me on the edge of my seat. I strongly encourage you to read the book.

I was hooked after reading the first couple of chapters. Very good introduction to Kane and I could picture him sitting in the back of the truck, doing his job, maintaining oversight of his teammates. The plot moves him out and away from love interest AJ, for a few days, which was a good idea for the story. Too often a story can get a bit claustrophobic and unreal. This is a well thought out take involving the Eurovision contest and terrorism. I'm looking forward to reading about Liam and Cullen.
