Outstanding end to the trilogy. It was the best of the three books, and that's a pretty high bar, because the first two were really, really good. I only say bittersweet because it looks like this is an ending to the series. But what an ending, and what a way to go out with a bang.

I love this series so much! Every book gets better and better and I love the characters. David Mack has really done his research in the areas of history that the stories take place and he has created amazing characters.
Do yourself a favor and get the first book and get ready for an amazing ride. And don’t be daunted by all the demon names and powers.

Been a big fan of this series, and eagerly awaited the second and third novels!

Lots of action, and the universe the author has created is so unique that it makes me not want to put the book down! Love the mix of Cold War intrigue with magic, which is what drew me to this series in the first place.

Overall, pretty good, but kind of lacked in character development and plot this time around, so 4 out of 5 for me. Just a bunch of new characters, that didn't really get fleshed out, that are there, then gone. Kind of confusing plot at times, the big bad was kind of...blah, so to speak, certainly not as epic as the first and second novels. But it was overall a great read, and a good conclusion to some ongoing character arcs, and the start of some new ones.

Hopefully this sets up for follow-on series, and I would love to see some of the additional characters fleshed out with their own stories about the art in new novels.

What a ride! Great ending to a taut series. David weaves history and magic in a way not expected. The characters are fleshed our and jump off the page.

These books are really something else! Humans harnessing the powers of demons and angels, spy craft, conspiracies, and all during different decades of time. I really enjoyed it and hope the author can write more of them. The author posted awhile back and it’s iffy if Tor will contract him for more books so please tell your friends out and support quality authors. I believe Tor has already dropped at least two A+ series (Marc Turner’s Chronicles of the Exile and Glen Cook’s Instrumentalities of the Night) because they were not happy with sales.

Although there are several series that I think are “better” these are so much fun and the pages fly by. I would easily recommend them to people not used to reading books, but loves action movies and wants to give the fantasy genre a try as long as there are no elves, dwarfs etc. Although the fantasy genre is my jam and I obviously enjoy them too. There is definitely a ending but leaves room for more installments in this world.

This is the third in the Dark Arts series and definitely hands down the best of the three
A page turner you won’t be able to put down
Twists and turns galore and the best part it’s open ended for more which I implore David Mack to do
Highly recommended

1963: John F Kennedy has been assassinated and someone is murdering sorcerers.

Excellent final (just for now, I hope) novel in the Dark Arts series.
