Ok... I have to admit... not everyone has the same experience whether; reading, seeing, tasting, touching, smelling, or hearing. I read some of the negative comments and all the things someone pointed out like lack of sexy times, unresolved issues, no closure, a hastily thrown together plot, an annoying heroine, and lack of closure made me almost not want to read this book, despite it being the Arcav/Human couple I was most hoping to read about... well, I am SO HAPPY that I did! Hope Hart hasn't steered me wrong or let me down yet! Just letting you know now... possible spoilers****
So the main thing is read the story until the end people don't skim. There may be some definite stressful subject matter in this storyline, but it shows the strength and evolution of the couple's characters both individually and as their relationship and understanding of one another matures. There are definitely scenes that are heartbreaking as well as heart-warming that have you rooting as well as going through all the ups and down with them. There are definite sexy times as well as heavy petting for those interested in the sex/erotica... as well as another piece to the Arcav plot that keeps you want to read more to see what happens. The Hero that has a reason for trying to save the heroine to keep her safe because of his own cultural stigma, which IS explained, as well as the Heroines.There IS an HEA as well as a resolution or rather reunion with the heroines mom at the end. Thank you Hope Hart. I can't wait to read the next installment!

I am in the process of Re-reading the series and posting any missing reviews that I completed before edits occurred. This is one that still had the rating, but I felt the need to add an edit and explanation at the bottom.

** Please be advised that if you have not read this story or series to date, the following will contain spoilers. **

This is the third full story in the Arcav series. It contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, adult intimate scenes and violence. Content includes kidnapping / abduction, fighting sometimes to the death, consensual / non-consensual acts, enslavement, torture, assault, etc.

If these types of scenes are not your favorite, then please do not purchase and then rate it lower than it deserves.

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are multiple reoccurring characters, concurrent and consecutive timelines, with an overall storyline arc. Plus you would get all kinds of spoilers and miss some of the universe created.

I didn’t reduce the rating based upon the grammatical issues, as the stories and series have been able to engage my attention and provide an escape from reality, but there are multiple grammatical issues and some inconsistent data around some dates (hopefully that is vague enough). If interested in more, I uploaded my notes to goodreads. I mention this info for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow and visualization.

Varian, the Arcav King, sent Methi and another General on a mission to check on the Fecax, a long-term ally. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to them at the time, Methi was sent with one of the traitors. Now the ship he was on has disappeared from their radar the day before it was due to arrive and the traitor arrested. Meghan has decided that she has waited long enough and she is going after her missing ‘friend’, so she makes peace with losing her future opportunities to become a captain on an Arcav ship and steals one from their dock. Hang on Methi, Meghan is coming for you.

EDIT: The more I thought about the story as I re-read the story, the more I wondered what happened to Methi as he was trapped on the planet by the traitors. How did he get off of it? What situations did he face with the environment, predators, resources, healing from his gun shot, etc.? How did he end up on Durin, locked in a cell? How long was he there? None of this was addressed, it is like that time / situation just never existed. So therefore, I felt like the rating has to be lowered. I just wished Amazon recognized less than one star! Hopefully one day!

This story was epic. Stolen space ships, imprisonment, escapes and ship crashes. You really can't ask for much more. Throw in an epic love story and you have it all. Loved Methi and Megan's story.

This whole series had been so much better than expected. Many in this genre are so predictable with little plot beyond human female eventually falling for super arrogant alpha alien and lots of graphic sex scenes. This series seems to be much more than that with in depth characters and an actual storyline.

Meghan and Methi met first on the spaceship, on which the Arcav King brought home his human Queen. Methi was the personal guard of the queen and because of a fight with the cruel Grivath Methi was severely wounded and lost his arm. When the queen visited him, she brought Meghan with her and it was love on the first sight between Meghan and Methi. At this time Meghan was only fifteen, almost sixteen as she said.
One day Methi goes on a mission with Talis, who turns out to be a traitor, to Fecax, an allied planet, where the royal family had been slaughtered and a young princess is missing for weeks. Methis spaceship gets lost and Meghan will do everything to get him back.
I enjoyed reading the book. The story is action packed and full of suspense. Methi is a strong willed character, only he has an issue with honor, because he is an illegitimate child. Meghan is a prodigy, vibrant and adventurous. When she was an infant, she was left by her father, so she has an issue with being left behind. Both need to overcome, if they want to become mates. Ms. Hart does a very good job working this out. I highly recommend this book.

I love Meghan and Methi. I've loved them as a part of the other books and I'm so glad that they got their own book. It just shows you be careful what you wish for as you may get it but not in a way you're expecting! I love how Meghan fights for her man and how what she goes through changes her and she can see why Methi did what he did when she couldn't see it before. And I also love how Methi goes against his base instincts and tries something new to get them out if what they get themselves into. Brilliant! I love the way it's written and it kept me hooked in all the way through. Such great characters. Next book please!
