Interpreter: A tortured hero, office romance stand-alone. (Commander in Briefs) Kindle Edition
Blurb:
Heartbreakingly beautiful and devastatingly annoying, Timaeus Lambros, a deaf, former military translator, has just been assigned as my co-teacher for the rest of the school year.
His stupid-hot face gets on my nerves.
So does his well-fitting jeans.
Charming and gorgeous men like him should not be teachers. They should be locked away in a storage closet... with me.
But that’s just a teachers’ lounge fantasy with a big dreamy sigh attached.
Tim and I can never be a thing. He’s broody and closed off, while I’m the new owner of a one-way ticket back to Costa Rica, thanks to budget cuts.
But my abuelita always said life wasn’t a fairytale. So even if Tim does have a magical tongue and a dreamy body, we still might not get a happily ever after.

- The intimacy between Milah and Tim is beautiful in the most pure way possible. I am referring to real all-encompassing intimacy. The way they connect is organic and fluid - they fill each other's needs without even trying. They were so many scenes that left me in tears or with goosebumps from experiencing this with them. About the author
Kristy Marie is an international bestselling author who loves writing temperamental heroes who fall hard for strong and witty heroines.
She enjoys annoying her three children and husband for all the hugs and will attempt to grow anything green. She also reads all things romance and can be caught being naughty by enjoying a chapter or two before her 9 p.m. bedtime.
When Kristy's not writing broody alphas or hugging babies, you can catch her in pajamas watching baseball and yelling at the TV. Go Braves!

Ok, Kristy Marie just wow, this story was amazing. I just loved it with everything in me. I cried for the last hour and a half of this book because the emotional pull was just that strong. From the moment I started, this was one I just did not want to put down. You get cameos from the rest of the Commander in Briefs crew (highly recommend you check it out) which was such a delight because they have formed this incredible bond that never fails to entertain and warm your heart all at once.
Timeaus Lambros, completely stole my heart. He’s seriously the kind of guy you fall for without him even trying. Broody and infuriatingly sexy, to know him is to love him and love him I did.
Milah Iglesias was simply a treat. A feisty beauty with just that little bit of crazy but I was all here for it. Her inner thoughts had me literally laughing out loud.
Together he and Milah were just *muah* chef’s kiss perfection and hot steamy magic on the page.
Their story wasn’t one of a second chance romance but it was one of second chances and boy was it beautifully crafted.
I was so excited for this audio and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Teddy Hamilton is a favorite and every time he narrates it is audio bliss and this story was no different. The last book I listened to with Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was one with an English accent and the seamless transition to a Latina accent for Milah was done flawlessly. These two were the icing on the cake.
If you’re looking for a book that’s going to be more than a read, this is the one, it is going to make you feel. And I mean ALL the feels.
That only word pretty much describes how I’m feeling right now. And the past hours after finished my reading.
The first time I read a silent character named Tim in Commander my love was instantaneous. No description was necessary. Like fate, I fell in love with him.
Through the next books, my love became bigger and stronger.
But the day I heard that he would have his own book I knew that my reading life would be complete.
I know I sound a little ridiculous and that I have others fictional lovers but this man was ONE OF A KIND.
I told Kristy that this reading was like End Game to me. Just from the very first page, I just knew that I wanna love it and it would be a lot of crying and swooning and love and all the feelings. And it was.
While writing this it’s inevitable to remember a few things and my eyes watered. All those fights. All those lows and highs. Every character. Every single detail. Everything was perfect. From top to bottom.
But that final almost broke my heart. So much happiness couldn’t be retained. And I felt a little betrayed because I wanted more. Couldn’t stand that it was over.
Now, I just gonna say a few things about some characters or my review just would be a bubbling thing lol
Milah is like her mami and abuelita said. Like a miracle, with her heels and sassyness was able to bring that sparkle to my beloved Tim. Her friends Pe and Marcus just added the right amount of fun.
Oliver, my little boy. With your little hands and eyes full of hope not only brought Tim to his knees but me too. The foster system always has me. Those children need so much love and be able to give it to them even just a little it’s important to them. Be a family even more.
Dr. Parker. You really are a pain in our side. But we love you all the same. Never change.
The troupe, Theo and Anniston. Always supportive. Always caring. Always loving. You all are the best.
And little Aspen. That spoiled princess. How could you not love her? She is the shining sun.
No more words. Or I will not end this.
Perfection. Just that. Perfection.

You find yourself becoming personally invested in each character, you laugh with them and cry as well.
The only downside to this book is that it had to end. I am now going to be waiting on pins and needles for Vic’s book, and let’s not forget Kane.
Tim has been losing his hearing for years but at the start of the story, he has become completely deaf. There is treatment for this but he refuses it. To prove he is moving on with his life, Tim promises his therapist he will get a job. Anniston sets him up with a position as a teacher’s assistant at the local primary school.
The teacher he is assigned to assist is Ms MIlah Iglesias. Milah is fluent in sign language and this makes her the perfect teacher for Tim to help. Unfortunately Tim’s arrival doesn’t come at the best time for Milah who has just found out her position at the school is being terminated and she will have to return to Costa Rica. She’s a bit off her game and not particularly happy about having Tim in her classroom.
As well as her regular duties, Milah is also teaching a six year old student how to sign. Oliver is a foster child who is going deaf. Milah, Oliver and the school’s music teacher, Mrs Peak, are the perfect combination to help Tim ACTUALLY move on instead of just saying he will/ is. That is if he can move on from the trauma of his past.
The comic relief in this book comes once more from Theo as well as Milah’s best friend Filipe who owns and performs in a drag bar. A highlight for lovers of the Commander on Brief’s series is Tim’s connection to with baby Aspen. They are SO adorable.
Interpreter can be read as a standalone but for the full experience I strongly recommend you read the entire Commander in Briefs series. There are also standalone second generation books that will add to your love for this amazing family of ex-Marines and the people who love and care for them.
