Lost Girl (Rosewood Realm Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 168 ratings

Finding Wendy chained in that dungeon wasn’t by sheer chance.

It was the inexplicable call of duty that lured me toward the sound of her cries.

Although I didn’t know her, much less why she was down there, I knew I had to save her.

Consequences be damned.

So the Lost Boys and I formed a plan, and after mission impossible, I brought her back to our stomping grounds. I thought we were in the clear, but Peter Pan proves to have left his mark on another innocent soul.

Innocent or not, her connection to him quickly leaves her as ostracized as he once found himself, pointed looks and hushed voices following her every move.

Until her mortality poses a concern, that is.

One the factions can’t ignore.

One no one has answers for, either.

Both my father and the Sacred Six warn there might not be any, but that doesn’t deter Wendy from trying to find a solution.

Amidst the chaos, there’s a singular thought that incessantly crosses my mind. Proof that fate is real.

She’s mine.

And I’ll be damned if anyone tries to rip my little wolf away from me.

First I have to say the Dedication in this book had me in tears for personal reasons as the first line was what my mother kept telling me before she passed and I knew I was meant to read this book.

Dee Garcia did such an amazing job crafting the characters and keeping some aspects from the original fairy tale but also crafting them to be her own versions of the characters that are perfectly suited for Rosewood. I love retelling and this one is Epic.

Tavi and Wendy's story is filled with tension (of the best kind 😉) throughout most of the book and you feel just as frustrated as they do by the time they FINALLY are able to succumb and find their missing piece in the other.
I love that while Tavi is the Alpha he learns temperance and understanding and that while Wendy was originally a damsel in distress, she finds her inner strength and learns to stand up for herself and go after what she wants the most...Tavi and love.

I cannot wait for the next book to see where all the characters on this world go next, what adventures await them and who ends up with who as the ending definitely left the series open for another book.

“Lost Girl” is Dee’s second book in the Rosewood Realm series, and like Venom it didn’t disappoint. I absolutely love this series. It’s amazing and the characters flow so well together. This story begins where Venom has left off...Tinksley and Hook have just kidnapped Wendy and brought her to Rosewood. There she is held captive until Tavi hears her cries for help. Tavi finds Wendy and reassures her that he will be back for her, he needs time to get a plan in place to rescue her. He comes back for her and their relationship literally goes full speed ahead. The challenge to their new status, is most people fear anyone or anything that was ever associated with Peter and Wendy is no exception. They go through tons of judgement and family members trying their best to keep the couple apart. When Wendy’s nightmares become too much for her to bare, she takes off insisting on going home. Tinksley takes her home and then all heck breaks loose. Now Tavi must cross the portal to rescue her from yet another danger...Will he be in time to save her or this one time that even the “Big Bad Wolf” can’t save little Wendy?

Wendy’s story takes us back to Rosewood. The story picks up directly after Hook and Tinksley kill Peter and take Wendy with them. Tinksley is in transition so her rage and anger at all that has happened to her is not under control. This is why she takes Wendy, to lock her away and make her pay for what Peter did to her. I almost did not like Tinksley during the first act of the story. I had to remind myself of what she has been through and that she was not in her right mind. As for Wendy, I hoped that she wouldn’t suffer too much (lies☺️). Lucky for her Tavi comes to her rescue. Tavi is the leader/alpha of the Lost Boys (werewolves), and as impulsive and surly as he seems, he feels a deep sense of loyalty to those he loves. He will do whatever he needs to to protect those around him. So, when he finds Wendy locked in Hook’s dungeon he immediately wants to help her. Wendy has to endure Tinksley’s mind games and threats of death for about a week before Tavi finally frees her. Tavi takes her back to his home where his family does not approve of his actions. But Tavi’s deep sense of morality and the need to protect Wendy will not allow him to have her sent back into Hook and Tinksley’s hands.

From here I struggled with the story. The first act had me riveted, and I had to mentally restrain myself from reading when I needed to be working. However, the rest of the book dragged for me. Wendy has a lot of trauma to work through as well as a medical emergency, and her continuing nightmares/sleep paralysis. We also get to see the relationship develop between her and Tavi. The lack of drama and problems for Wendy and Tavi made the remaining part of the story a bit slow.

Without giving too many details of the plot away, I will say I felt there was a missed opportunity to increase the suspense and difficulties for Wendy when she returns to her own world/realm. We know that she is going to be a suspect in Peter’s death, but nothing really happens with that. In the end Wendy gets her HEA. Maybe I’ve been reading too many dark romances, but I wanted her to have to suffer a bit more for her HEA (sorry- not really). Even though this book was a bit slow for my liking, the plot and the world building were spot on. I plan on continuing the series when book three comes out.

Throughout the story we get clues that something is going on with Tigerlily. She is hiding something, which we don’t find out until the very last paragraphs of the story. This is where it ends on a cliffhanger. Things are wrapped up for Wendy and Tavi, but your left wondering who Tigerlily was with at the end. You get a short teaser for book three (Anomaly) with Tigerlily and her vampire. I won’t say who it is, you will just have to read the third book!

Dee Garcia can write one heck of a book, that’s for sure. In this new series of stand alones, in The Rosewood Realm, she first wowed me with Venom and now she gives me Lost Girl, a story perfectly told. Yet again, this author pulled me in, held me spellbound and led me through a magical world where belief is suspended and anything can happen.

This is the story of Tavi and Wendy, and what a story it was. My heart broke for Wendy often in this book. If it hadn’t been for Tavi, I’m not sure she would have survived this ordeal. Tavi, strong and loyal and loving; he is the perfect alpha for the pack and also Wendy. Tavi finds Wendy imprisoned and chained in a dungeon, at the mercy of a hardened and vengeful Tinksley. The story unfolds from there.

We get to see Tinksley and the Captain often in this story. They both play integral parts. We see other characters, such as Tigerlily and Armand, whose story will develop later. The world building is superb, the characters interesting and unique, and the plot very well executed. Like I said, Ms. Garcia can write one heck of a story.

This book had me on the edge of my seat at times; literally. I found myself vacillating through different emotions: anywhere from worry to fear to sadness to hope and happiness. I love books that draw on my emotions, engaging my heart as well as my head. And this book did just that. Highly recommended.

After reading Venom, (also by this author) I have to admit that I was really expecting big things for the next book. Whatever had to come after Venom was something bigger and better than the first; and believe me that book rocked.

However, I wasn’t expecting to be as sucked in as I was. As soon as that first chapter hits you, you are drawn right back into this dark, depraved and silky world that was first created back in Venom.

This author holds no bars. Her world building is so good that you are transported. You believe that you are in this world that has been so cleverly built.

And the characters. How is it possible for you to hate and love characters at the same time? Like how can one character make you want to punch them but be utterly flawed with them at the same time. I felt this a lot throughout the story.

When Venom hit, I was like, “okay, these are some serious contender characters.” But now having read Lost Girl, I’m seriously questioning my thought processes. Tavi and Wendy have possibly just moved beyond that bar!

The only thing I would have any negativity on is that if this author doesn’t carry on this series with other books, I will be majorly disappointed.

Highly recommend!

Wow, I’m loving this series and its only 2 books in.
This follows on from Venom book 1, and its Tavi and Wendys story. I really enjoyed reading this book, it doesn’t end on a cliff hanger per se but it definitely leads onto book 3 and omg I can’t wait!!!

This book was okay. I loved the premise, but it just didn’t really do it for me. I really liked Tavi, it was a redeeming factor throughout the book. However the whole nightmare plot line annoyed me when it wasn’t actually concluded. Maybe the author thought it would pull people in to continue the mystery in the next book, but it really just made this book feel incomplete.
