What Dreams are Made of (Star Gazer Inn of Corpus Christi Bay Book 2) Kindle Edition
Welcome back to Star Gazer Inn. Alice McIntyre’s fresh start after buying the Star Gazer Inn is filling her days, and she’s now ready to open with the help of her best friend Lisa’s culinary skills and uplifting attitude.
Alice’s son Dallas is realizing he may not have what it takes to continue riding in the pro rodeo bull riding circuit. He’s home at the South Texas McIntyre Ranch after injuring his shoulder and checking out what’s going on at his mother’s new inn. When he meets a beautiful woman on the beach under unusual circumstances, he has no idea how his life is about to change…
And her soon-to-be daughter-in-law Nina by her side, too. And the magic of her new friend and contractor Seth Roark’s tireless attention to detail. Seth and Alice have both suffered loss, both are starting over, and both are treating this new friendship and attraction they feel toward each other with caution.
Meanwhile: Riley McIntyre is full speed ahead on getting the new "glamping" venue on the ranch’s coastal beachfront property up and going for the ladies who like a little glamor and luxury to their camping experience.
Jackson and Nina are planning their wedding. Lisa’s past is causing problems and with the opening of the inn, Alice needs her to be focused and her culinary skills to be at their best. Can she handle the pressure?
Three women find friendship and courage on the shores of Corpus Christi Bay. Come visit the Star Gazer Inn, with a side trip to the McIntyre Ranch, as Alice finds her way between two worlds. This new series follows Alice, her sons, and her friends—and new loves—on the South Texas coast with its sparkling topaz water. You’ll want to dip your toes in and stay awhile.

About the author

Debra Clopton is a USA Today bestselling & International bestselling author who has sold over 3.5 million books. She has published over 81 books under her name and her pen name of Hope Moore.
Under both names she writes clean & wholesome and inspirational, small town romances, especially with cowboys but also loves to sweep readers away with romances set on beautiful beaches surrounded by topaz water and romantic sunsets. She recently launched her first wholesome women’s fiction with romance and combined both her love of cowboys and beaches in her new Star Gazer Inn of Corpus Christi Bay series. She and readers are loving the experience!
Debra is a multiple award-winning author, but of all her awards, it is her reader’s praise she values most. If she can make someone smile and forget their worries for a few hours (or days when binge reading one of her series) then she’s done her job and her heart is happy. She really loves hearing she kept a reader from doing the dishes or sleeping!
In 2016 she decided to take control of her publishing career and returned contracts along with advance money to her traditional publishers of 10 years and opened her own publishing company and never looked back. Her books now sell worldwide and are regulars on the Bestseller list in the United States and around the world.
A sixth-generation Texan, Debra lives on a ranch in Texas with her husband surrounded by cattle, deer, very busy squirrels and hole digging wild hogs. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2024This is a very clean, sweet series, nothing heavy just stories of fresh starts and finding love. I recommend reading them in order to really get the full effect, how the lives of the individuals come together and go beyond. This second story has Dallas, the bronco rider, accidentally finding his happily ever after. By the end of the story both he and his older brother, Jackson, are married. Their Mom is also finding love after having lost her husband awhile before. This is such a lovely story with a happy ending. Great for light reading any time of year.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2024Another great book. I enjoyed this as much as first, great pageturner and ant wait for Book 3, I can see another wedding is coming!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2021I love the characters, especially Alice and Seth. As a former English teacher, however, I find I want to scribble all over these books with red ink. The sentence fragments, incorrect verb tenses and misuse of pronouns remind me of my students’ writing. Plus everything is so oversimplified. I will not be continuing the series, especially since they are not free.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2023Enjoyed being back at Star Gazer Inn. Dallas and Lorna story was sweet. Dallas came to Lorna rescue. Lorna and Landon were all Dallas needed. The ranch was something they had together it was a gift given. Lorna needed Dallas and his family. Dallas needed her to make his life complete. It didn't take long for love to come. Looking forward to reading Riley and Tucker stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2022I love this series and the continued story of Alice and her sons. Alice's B&B s going great. Jackson and Nina are planning their wedding. Dallas has returned to Star Gazer Island to heal from a bull riding accident. When he arrives at the Inn he hears someone screaming on the beach, and he finds a young pregnant woman on the beach, who has gone into Labor. He helps Lorna to the Inn and later realizes she is alone with no family to help. Dallas helps Lorna with her newly acquired ranch and her baby. So while helping Lorna, Dallas heaps from his injury and makes some big changes.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2021I've read most all of DC's books over the years and loved them all; they were a guaranteed-to-enjoy choice for me. I loved the first book of this series as well. However, this one annoyed me, the writing style is not her usual realistic conversational and insight-filled type. Instead of explaining backgrounds and situations in narrative paragraphs, the characters are going on and on, telling each other things the listener already knows, repeating things. There were times a character would answer another character's question, and go on and on about her/himself way beyond what was necessary to get the question answered AND way beyond what we needed to read, mostly because we already knew it, and the character who had asked the question already knew it. I wondered if someone else wrote all or most of this for DC because she was too busy. I didn't feel connected to the characters like I did in #1. One reviewer commented the men talked like women -- that's true! I hadn't thought of that, but it's true. I've already got #3 and #4 downloaded so I'll read them, but for #2, I was relieved to be done with it, and I am very sad to say that because DC's books have always been realistic and fun to read. I hope #2 is a "one-off."
- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2022A lovely, heartwarming, clean romance. All the characters are relatable and would make real-life good friends. I would advise to read book 1 first, so you under the backstory. I highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2023Loved the first and second book can't wait to read the next one. The characters are wonderful and very real

3.0 out of 5 stars Idyllic fantasy
Nice Idyllic read. The men think and talk like women, so not very realistic, but I read to escape realism and enjoy the fantasy of idealism

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing heavy
Didn't enjoy this book as much as the first, very repetitiveness felt as if pages was just being filled by repeating things over and over

3.0 out of 5 stars Bit predictable
These books are a lighthearted read but I found them to be a bit repetitive and predictable. Having read books one and two I shan't be bothering with the third.
