About the Author

Amber Anthony is a pen name that represents collaborating authors: Patrice Hough Bader (She answers to Rusty) and Nancy Reynolds.

Together they have written several television episodes and feature film scripts.

They write about gorgeous alpha males with tons of charm, who might also be vampires. Their heroines are smart and strong with plenty of heart. Best of all, their stories take readers on a ride that holds their attention from start to finish.

Their first novel with Torrid Books, Blood Rising, is the first of a trilogy, a hot, supernatural vampire romance. Blood Emerald feature Rick Hiatt and will debut in January 2018. Blood Dragon features Adam Lachlan will follow in June 2018.

Patrice Hough Bader resides in the Midwest. She pursued study in Dance and Performing Arts before completing her studies in Political Science. After a career in Sales and Marketing she owns a tavern with her husband.

Nancy Reynolds resides in a southwest city. She spent her twenties in New York City as an actress before entering the family business and pursuing a career in health care. For several years she has written for movies and television. Now, she's turning her love for words into production as a romance writer.

Amber Anthony is the pen name for Nancy Reynolds and Rusty Hough Bader. Years ago Theatre was Nancy's career and Rusty was a Dance and performance major at USF. We met through our love of British history.

Our genre drama short script Maxwell Older was an earlier Las Vegas Film Festival winner.

After developing several scripts of note, we directed our talents toward writing Paranormal Romance with an emphasis on magical realism in their ‘undead’. Developing our own mythology of day-walking undead bent on delivering the perfect bite to satisfy their mortal donors, we built a worldwide network of paranormal resorts. Vamps have to eat somewhere, right? Our adventure romance expanded from New Adult to Seasoned Romance.

As we have lived in a variety of cities we travel together when we can. Our first standalone was a Contemporary Romance based in Baltimore, Maryland with themes of redemption and renewal. Our newest series is Action Romance involving an ensemble of law enforcement professionals up and down the California coast culminating in Honolulu.

Our Alpha males are heroes for today. Our heroines are quick on their feet and clever as the devil.

When we aren’t collaborating long distance, we live in separate cities with their respective menageries.

Blood Emerald is a continuation of the world Amber Anthony began with Blood Rising. This is Rick Hiatt’s story. While Rick is stressed about Veronique’s drug antics, Anna shows up and warns him of a new potential threat. The characters are written so well that they don’t fit into neat little boxes, their realism makes this quite possibly my favorite book in the series. As Rick is a 500ish year old vampire, he has a rich history that the reader gets glimpses of, really fleshing him out. Anna really grows in this book as well and I love Rick’s nickname for her, cupcake. They really are good for each other.The action is what really what drives the story, whether it’s in the bedroom, trouble with Veronique, or dealing with a vampire slayer. The book’s pacing is impeccable leaving you feeling as though you’ve been on a thrill ride. Read Blood Emerald for the ride of your life!

Rick may have been a 500 year-old vampire widower who was set in his ways, but that did not mean he couldn't learn new things. After exploring the Dom/Sub relationships for years he had gotten quite good at being a Dom. Women lined up to be at the mastery end of his whip. But after his run in with Anna he realized that maybe it was time for a little vanilla...Cupcake.

Anna was Matt's feeder at the club, but he realized that she was too sweet and innocent to be part of the vampire world and therefore banned her. That did not stop her from wanting to protect him and his vampire family. Except Matt was off on his honeymoon and she was left to tell Rick of the vampire hunter who now resided in their town.

"In her world, Rick had slain the dragon, stormed the castle, and won her heart."

A human who wanted to protect vampires. A sweet enticing Cupcake who deserved the nickname. Rick was enthralled and would do everything within his power to not only get the girl, but to protect her, and win her heart. 

Anna, who was once intimidated by Rick, finds that she is drawn to him and doesn't want to be without him. Even if his overbearing need to protect her starts from the very beginning, she doesn't question it, she knows he's doing it for her. Their romance is quick starting, filled with passion, and if Anna has anything to say about it...never-ending. Together they would have it all...including the dog.

Blood Emerald is the second book in the Blood Trilogy and it continues the struggles of Matt and Rick against Veronique. Just when they think they have her where they want her she surprises them; and their once mercy will come back to cost them. But out of something horrendous comes something good. Adam finds a fellows dragon shifter and is asked to return to his colony to be crowned king. I look forward to the look into the shifter world of Adam's in the next book, Blood Dragon.

"Dear boy, why don't you flip on security camera twelve and watch a bit of I Love Cupcake?"

"Not on your life, why would I want to watch the two of you make out in the bar?"

"Oh, I'm not in the bar. Your wife and my girlfriend have their heads together down there." - I loved this conversation between Rick and Matt. It made me laugh.

The second story of this trilogy again had me glued to the Kindle to find out what happened next. Amber's writing made the book come alive so much that I almost forgot the characters were not real. And for someone who does not generally like romance novels, that is a high compliment. I hope they write more with these characters!

Danger, suspense and some drama makes for an enjoyable read. A hot alpha single dom vampire is about to get schooled on love by his single mortal woman but will they survive to enjoy it? Rick is a five hundred year old vampire and the head of an international BDSM empire, his nemesis Veronique, his new interest Anna and the rest of his clan to contend with and do not forget the vampire hunters. Anna comes to give Rick a warning that trouble is coming his way in the form of hunters but Anna captivates Rick and he wants to keep this wise but innocent human for himself. Will he be able to protect Anna and his clan, keep Veronique in check and defeat the hunters? Get your copy and find out. Enjoy, I did!

Rick Hiatt is a hero to die for in this stunning standalone. Literally. We were first introduced to this devilishly handsome vampire in the first book of the Blood series. Now, Rick is the leading man in this second installment and readers are going to melt as his story unfolds. The context is immaculate and the characters are wonderfully flawed. Although the heroine is fascinating and complex, Rick and his dominating ways are the tugboat dragging readers through a flood of emotion. Amber Anthony does no wrong when it comes to sculpting a man who is brought to his knees by a savvy woman.

Rick has been dealing with dom/sub relationships for hundreds of years and he runs an international BDSM Empire. But with responsibility like this comes risk. Humans and vampires live on opposite sides of a very sensitive membrane and Rick’s nemesis threatens to tear straight through that. After meeting Anna, there is hope. Anna is clever and her intuition is exactly what Rick needs … but she’s mortal.
