4.4 stars This is the fourth book in The Condemned series and the first book that I have read by the author. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the other books first. Grif is a man with a troubled childhood who is now on the prison planet and helping it to thrive. He is looking to prove himself so that he can become the second in command. Nayla is the enemy, always seen as an outcast and abused. Yet even with what she has endured, her thoughts have been that if she just tries harder then she will be accepted. However, she winds up in a precarious position when she is captured and all he wants is the information as to where are the rest of the females. Will Nayla betray her pack? Will Grif be able to break Nayla? There are many layers to these characters that are felt in the pages. Watching Nayla and Grif’s relationship evolve is something else and just proves once again what coming into one’s own power can do when nurtured. I look forward to reading Ghost’s book and more from this author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    In a great series! After reading the previous books, I immediately preordered this one. And I wasn't disappointed!
    I was wondering after the last one where Grif was going. The implied darkness in the Charmer made me curious. I'm so glad I looked.

    Grif is a great hero with a tragic backstory that is both heartbreaking and a clear and understandable motivating force. His character is beautiful and wonderfully consistent. No questions if or why he acts as he does.

    Nayla is the same way, a fully realized character. You feel for and understand her and her desire to be included in pack life. You admire her strength, cleverness, and stubborn determination. Her feelings of wonder at the love, acceptance, and sensations Grif gives her are so sweet and compelling in their own way. I love that she demands respect and an equal partnership, and won't be wrapped in cotton wool when she can help.

    I think that's what I love about a lot of the relationships in these books. The women hold their own.

    Each book shows us just how brutal life can be on Dragath25, but also the hidden beauties, or the beauty that only blossoms in the presence of true love. For the first time, we learn that Dragath25 isn’t actually a cruel, barren, sometimes beautiful wasteland, but most importantly we learn that it wasn’t devoid of humanity. I love how this book touches on colonialism and imperial overreach. I love the strength and perseverance of our hero and heroine and their determination to overcome difficult pasts. And I was pleasantly surprised that all the foreshadowing actually led up to a confrontation with an enemy no one saw coming. This series just keeps getting better and better, so I’m really happy this isn’t the end (and that it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger). My curiosity is piqued for reasons revealed in the book. As with all the previous stories, I’m thoroughly impressed and eagerly anticipating the next installment.

    Grif, so brave, so strong, determined to save everyone, and oh so broken. Grif endured a terrible upbringing, one that was riddled with misery and suffering. Grif was unable to save his sister from either herself or their violent father, but he is determined not to let another woman down.

    In Ryker’s book, several women were taken by a small woman with a glowing stick. He is determined to save them from whatever took them.

    Nayala, alone, untouchable, outcast, has been trying to fit into her pack from birth but the horrible Talg, leader of the pack see’s her as the lowest of low and he makes sure that the pack see’s her the same way. Nayala has been taught that she is untouchable, undeserving, and inferior due to her part "Other" ancestry. She tries everything she can to aid her pack and establish her value. Even if that means bartering for girls with the Others.

    Grif will not abandon the women that have been abducted, and now he must capture the small "furball" and get her to tell him what he needs to know. Grif's favorite technique of extracting information? Pleasure...through ropes and knots. Aye yai yi....is it starting to get warm in here? It feels warmer. I think I would like to be interrogated next please.

    Tamed is another page-turner that will have you guessing until the very end. There is betrayal, suffering, forgiveness, and discovery. Nayala finding her strength was incredible. Grif navigating his emotions and learning he can’t do it all by himself was heartwarming. I have truly enjoyed the Condemned series and will miss these guys and their adventures on Dragath25.

    Do I recommend this book? Yes, I recommend the whole darn series! I do hope there are more books to come and if there are, I will keep reading!

This book is definitely a different kind of romance novel but OMG did I go on a journey while reading it. The attraction between Grif & Nayla was amazing and throughout reading this book had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. I would also like to mention that this book is very intense and may not be an ideal read for people who are sensitive and have certain triggers, which I would like to put out there. Overall this is an amazing read that is definitely a different romance novel than I am use to reading but I like reading romance books that are out of my comfort zone. Well done!!!!

Im so glad the hero was able to heal many of her internal wounds and helped her find her voice. This is a difficult but sweet love story.
