Nai expected the summons to Alpha Academy...but not this year.

She’s trained her entire life to lead her pack, and the elite school is where she’ll receive the elemental magic that distinguishes her as an alpha heir.

But the four sexy guards sent to escort Nai are not only early—they’re her sworn enemies. Then when she arrives at Alpha Academy, the Alpha King is not happy to see her.

And if that isn’t enough...

Mysterious magical marks pop up on her skin, outcast shifters keep attacking the school, and someone is trying to kill her.
There is no way things could get worse. No way.

Until she meets her fated mate at a masquerade party…
He’s sexy as sin.
An Alpha Heir.
And completely and totally forbidden.

Review

Midnight Kissesis the binge-worthy fantasy you've been waiting for. Shifters, elemental magic, and enemies to lovers romance is only the beginning. The Shifter Island series combines Leia Stone's signature page-turning pace with Raye Wagner's unpredictable twists and turns. Plus, the romantic tension makes this teen angst romance one of THE best YA fantasy books of 2020. -Kristin J. Dawson, literary contributor for How Does She and author of The Lilac Plague

Midnight Kissesis the BEST wolf shifterbook I've ever read. Clear your evening because once you start, you won't stop until the incredible end. -Kimberly Loth, Amazon Bestselling Author of The Dragon Kings

Awestruck and dying for the next one!

Awestruck and dying for the next one!
An absolute must read! This embodied everything I love about shifter romance and fantasy. The magic systems were imaginative and the characters masterfully developed, but the true beauty lies in the way the authors capture and present the tiniest details, making you feel like you're part of the story. The white butterfly scene was breathtaking. I fell in love with Nai, Kaja, and the Midnight brothers. The tension and mystery surrounding the romance had my anticipation through the roof and the friendships were so accepting they warmed my heart. Throw in an explosive ending full of twists and I'm currently awestruck and unsure how I'll survive until the next book! Highly recommend this one!*I received an arc, all opinions expressed above are my own.

I love shifter books. And this one did not disappoint. I was in a reading slump. And this series pulled me out. Nai has confidence and loves hard. I love how she never gives up. What an awesome lead character. The brothers were great too. Now on to book 2.

I've seen this book multiple times so finally broke down at bought it. It's definitely a different take on werewolves. In this story wolves can perform magic, so it's almost like they're part witch. I'm not sure how I feel about this because it almost seems like being a shifter is an afterthought and the magic is more important. I really liked the story and I thought the world building was great, but it just felt like something was missing. I'm not sure if it's because the story felt rushed to me. It's a quick read and I thought the authors could have expanded more on certain things. For one, Nai is from a pack that has been banished from Alpha Island. The authors make it seem like everyone hates them because of this, yet we never really see Nai get mistreated or bullied once she makes it to Alpha island. The four most respected shifters--the Midnight Brothers--automatically befriend her and she becomes best friends with another girl right off the bat. It made the whole banished thing unimportant.

Next, it got really annoying when the word "douche" or "doucebag" was overly used. Every chapter Nai was referring to someone by that name. Then the whole percentage over usage got really annoying, too. "I'm 99.9% sure it was annoying." LOL Then there's the whole fated mate thing. Nai meets a masked man at a party and they magically become fated mates, though why it happened at that moment rather than the first time they met is never explained. Through the whole book his identity is kept hidden from Nai, yet it was so obvious that when it was revealed it wasn't a surprise at all. I was REALLY hoping the authors were trying to trick readers and it wouldn't be who we all expected, but it was and that was kind of a let down. I wanted to be like, "Oh, my gosh I did not see that coming." Anyway, it was a decent story but I was just expecting...more.

YA fantasy is my jam. Leia Stone’s new series has all the elements - wolf shifters, royalty, outcasts, and of course secrets. And my all time favorite, fated mates. This is a great book 1!

Look, this book was… really good.

I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I don’t usually love school-themed books, or YA books, or books that look suspiciously RH (but are not, in this case)... basically, the odds were stacked for me to not pick this book.

I saw some other reviews where people said they were surprised by how good the book was, so I gave it a try and y’all… this book is good!! I couldn’t put it down! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes YA books, slow-burn romance, fated mates, and sassy heroines. Can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Synopsis: Nai is a wolf shifter from an outcasted pack, who is summoned to train at Alpha Academy, where all future pack leaders go. Along the way, she encounters her fated mate, breaks all the rules, and uncovers a nefarious plot that has an impact on her past and that of her mysterious mate.

Sizzle: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 4/ 5. There’s a great enemies-to-lovers vibe here, and Nai and her mate (hehe, no spoilers!) have plenty of great chemistry.

Ship factor: ⛴ I’m a little skeptical at how fast the pivot from “I hate you” to “I adore you” happens, but I’m here for Nai/Mate.

Feminism Fails: I can’t think of any off the top of my head. There’s some mean girl stuff, but generally, Nai has a badass attitude and some awesome female friends who stand up for her. Love it.
