Every time I thought they were safe, something else happened. Maria and Brian are meant to be, but oh, the obstacles are scary and life threatening. But their love does indeed rescue all.
I love how the Author imparts Maria’s hidden knowledge and gives her the life she deserves.
I hope we will see more of the Mitchell Family saga soon.

Maria Brown-Garcia, an inexperienced nurse with huge self-esteem problems, applies for a job as home health aide/cook/housekeeper with the wealthy Mitchell family. Never expecting to get the job, she flies from Los Angeles to Hawaii for an interview, and—miracle of miracles—she is hired on the spot. She quickly develops a fondness for her elderly employer, and falls in love with the island paradise the family owns. Mrs. Mitchell’s five adult grandchildren have carried on the family legacy of running a search and rescue operation which keeps them flying from one part of the globe to another. Maria quickly develops a routine that provides this family with healthier meals and snacks as they jump from job to job, as well as clean clothes and light housekeeping duties.

She also catches the eye of the second oldest grandson, Brian Mitchell. But without understanding the dangers, she has fallen into the crosshairs of a serial killer, intent on murdering the entire Mitchell family and anyone else who stands in his path. In trying to save the lives of the family, she finds resources within that even Maria did not realize she possessed. And the Mitchell family discovers gifts within this young woman that give her more value than any of them could have ever imagined.

I found the book to be a delightful journey through Maria’s insecurities toward a more balanced way of life. Her forays into cooking for the Mitchell clan made me want to eat my body weight in food when I finally closed the book this morning! Ms. Posey has a decidedly visceral way of writing that hits you in the senses – both good and bad. (When she goes into some of the later scenes of kidnapping and torture, you get a good hint of THAT side of the story as well.)

I felt her ‘good’ characters were almost too good to be true, and the ‘bad’ characters were evil personified, but that’s the worst thing I can say about this book. It was an easy read, without an intricately woven plot to track or dozens of characters to keep straight, but as enjoyable as a summer day at the beach. If you love those ‘feel-good’ romances with characters you want to cheer for, this is a book you want to pick up.
