I am just blown away by this series and book three, Sticks and Stones may just be my favorite yet. Susan May's voice is by far my favorite to read in the Christian fiction genre, and she has outdone herself with this series. The twists and turns of the plot leave me with nerves frazzled, but somehow desperate for more. The characters - oh the characters! I couldn't love Rembrandt and Eve more if I tried. I am rooting so hard for those two it hurts. I love the slow build toward faith in Rem's life. I love how natural it has been introduced. A phenomenal installment that left me desperate for book four. Need. More. Rem.
Rem's going back to the past again to solve one more of his old cold cases. He vows not to screw up the timeline like he did the previous times he went back. He's just gonna solve a crime and catch a bad guy or two. Simple, right? Not so much.
This one had more romance than the previous books, but there was still a lot of action and suspense. And that ending has me so curious to find out what happens next. I can't wait!
These books read like episodes of a TV series that you binge rather than individual books. I’m glad I had book four on hand to continue the saga.
I received this book complimentary from a giveaway. I was not required to give a review. All of the opinions I have expressed here are honest and my own.

Only negative is I wish the stories were longer, but alas, I shall have to be content even so 😜
And the twists and turns come thick and fast and not just for Rem. His other major combatants get some of the impact of Rem's adventures: Eve, Burke and Shelby. There's a lot going on in this episode that requires a focused mind to absorb and keep on top of it all. There were some moments when I got stuck and wondered which time zone and which episode we're in. Fortunately, the authors clearly understand this as they have Rem take moments out of the story to update what has happened which I found useful.
There's more romance in this episode that adds another layer.
The climax of the house fire is really well written and keeps the reader holding our breath. Who will live, die and what is the ensuing impact of those who survive?
This is a really good series. I like that each episode is relatively short and each ends with a different outcome making us wonder what's in store in the next one. This one I found just a little more complicated and struggled at times following it all.
Check the series out but do start with Book 1.
