Amazing! Wonderful! Mesmerizing! Emotional ! Devastating! Heartbreaking💔! This is such a great story, my words just don't do it justice. This is probably the best historical romance I have read in the past year, and I read over 500!

The story is a sad and very emotional testament as to how , Blanche💃💋, a young girl ,was manipulated by her truly evil stepmother, Lettice.🐍 It's also a tale of how Marco,🐺🍆⛲ a young man, was manipulated by the same woman🐍 when she realized that he was in love💕 with Blanche💃💋 and not her.
Lettuce🐍 ruins Blanche's life by forcing her into becoming a courtesan, and sending Marco 🐺🍆⛲away for four years.

If nothing else, the book shows how us how important it is to communicate our feelings to those we love💘.
RECOMMEND!

I have been following this new author , Vlad Kahany, now for a while, and each book gets better and better. There was some repetition since the book was written from dual points of view, but I forgive that because of the devastatingly emotional quality of the book and the superior writing throughout...

Best book in the series yet!

This was the best book in the series of the Belle House so far. As the books move on I think this author has truly learned and developed. This story was much more captivating and much more emotional. I think this gives a bit of a better look into how the ladies to the Belle House get their start and probably isn’t too far from the actual truth. Throughout the whole story you really hope things are going to change for the better and that the characters are going to get what they so desperately want. Truly captivating, well done!

Blanche Carey was a beautiful young girl who lived happily with her wealthy businessman father until he died when she was but 11. Unfortunately, he had remarried to an exceedingly elegant and beautiful woman called Lettice Mabel Hatch except that she was as evil and vile a person as she was beautiful. Good in bed she attracted handsome men including one Marko Farini whom Blanche fell in love with. She was absolutely besotted with him at 15 and didn't realize she was such a beauty already which gave Marko all kinds of uneasiness. When Lettice recognized the mutual attraction she arranged for Blanche to marry a rich man but she refused as he was too ugly. Lettice then arranged for an older merchant to buy Blanche's maidenhood as she became 16. The child had to learn to support herself didn't she? Soon after creditors forced Lettice to depart for Paris with Marko leaving Blanche to fend for herself. Five years later Marko returns to triumphantly and successfully open a brand new type of cabaret bar club called Elysium which was the talk of the town of London. When Blanche showed up with a client he was impressed by how much more beautiful she was. Now she worked at the elite Belle House a class brothel in Piccadilly and was an elegant courtesan. This wonderful romance enhanced with its lovely prose tells of the reuniting and love affair between Marko and Blanche. The sex is graphic but not vulgar. This is after all a love story. There are ups and downs and it proceeds until there is a reckoning with the evil step-mother. One has a sense of the Belle Epoque rather than late Victorian. Received this ARC and have voluntarily reviewed.

Beta hero lovers stop here.

Reasonably well-written, this beta hero romance has some highlights, including raising awareness for substance abuse. That said, the editing needed help. Also, if you are okay with a cliff hanger in the middle of the story, this book will float your boat.

An emotional powerhouse of a book

Wow! This is the first book I've read by this author. I didn't really have any expectations, had read no reviews from previous books. I'm glad I hadn't done those things because being emotionally flattened like that was such a shock, I wondered where this author had been hiding! Then upon checking I see that he, yes HE, is fairly new. So I don't have much to binge read. What a shame.

Ok, so this book. Wow, ok. I'm not someone who gives a summary, or cliff's notes, or whatever. Read it! I will tell you that for the positive: i cried my eyes out for half of the book. My tissue box is noticeably less full. Incredibly touching, the miscommunication, the lies and deceit perpetrated by a jealous monster, and the ultimate happily ever after that felt so impossible to attain. Beautifully done. The negative: I would have loved to see more of the romance that made what they had between them more notable than what she had with her customers, rather than having it alluded to. I certainly wouldn't have minded more length to the book in order to accomplish such a thing. Maybe even add an epilogue at the end so we can see them in some future time, still together and happy?

But those "negatives" are truly grasping at straws because quite honestly this book had me in its grasp from the moment I started reading it until I finally finished and had closure. Never has a character had my hate more since Fernand Mondego. Maybe she wasn't that bad, but she was pretty darn close. Whew! That was a great villain! I look forward to reading more of your work, sir. And I'll be looking for your next ARC. And to those of you hesitating over a new author, this one is well worth the risk!
