Deadly Deceit: A Tom Grant Novel (The Tom Grant Series Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 29 ratings

“Okay, you know what? I agreed to an easy-ish job, following around some pop star. And now I’m expected to drag this halfwit around with me?”

Protecting international pop star, Max Morgan, while training prospective agent James Moore should be an easy job for Tom Grant. But easy turns to chaos when the pop star’s secrets become too many to hide and an old enemy reappears.

Cocky, navy drop out, James is everything Tom despises in one person. Assigned a job of his own, James must find out what happened in Paris and frame Tom for the murder of Jack Ford.

As Max’s demons manifest, Tom is forced to face his own. There is only so much death and torture a person can feel responsible for before it all becomes too much—even for Tom Grant.

Can Tom outsmart James and save Max from himself while staying one step ahead of arch nemesis, Kat Ivanov?

But a blockbuster nonetheless! The author has done a great job of tackling a difficult situation and weaving an interesting story around it. Recommended.

After having to leave Isabella in hiding, Tom Grant starts in another downward spiral. Martha decides it is best for Tom to protect a spoiled, hurting pop star and pairs him up with the nephew of the Royal Navy Admiral, who has an agenda of his own. The job is a mess from the start, just for it to get worse when a single red rose shows up. Tom is torn between fighting his own demons, protecting Max, finding out James' true intentions, and hunting down Kat.
Deadly Deceit is the second book in the Tom Grant series. It is full of twists and turns. I did not want to put it down. It is a relatively fast read and full of surprises. I cannot wait to start the third book.

Martha has put Tom on a new job protecting Max, a pop star who's getting threats from a terrorist group. Martha also assigns him James, a newbie to train while watching out for the star. James is in a pickle himself because he's informing on Tom to an enemy and Max throws Tom for a loop because he is so much like him in self destructive ways. Tom is struggling to be effective while keeping James in the dark and trying to protect Max from the threat. Kat is back to exact her revenge on Tom and resumes killing to get to him with a dangerous cat and mouse game that hits too close to home. Tragedies strike and an ultimate showdown rounds out this gripping fast read. Looking forward to the next in series

How does an author know the perfect words to tease and taunt you? Samantha Adair broke my heart in Blood Orphan leaving me anxious to follow Tom Grant into whatever chaos or danger he can find, but Deadly Deceit drags you kicking and screaming all over again!
Tom Grant is on fire. He is tasked with a partner, James, and on protective duty of a pop star. Tom soon realizes his own demons are hot on his heels and he may not be able to save anyone from the deceit that marks his path.

A Suspenseful thrill that grips you by the throat and barely lets you breathe...

Tom is back with a new job and his old vices, alcohol. He must look after a spoiled pop star all the while supervising a new man in his office, James. Tom doesn’t trust James as far as he can throw him but he’s going to need James’ help when Kat comes to call again.
Opinion
Yet another intriguing book by Ms. Adair. This quick read has you guessing what will come next. It also has you questioning if you remember the last book correctly. Great, quick read.
Many thanks to Phoenix Promos for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I loved the story even though I found it quite extensive in the description of her kills and extent of her venom and desire for the destruction of her victims!
The cat and mouse games she played were very well thought out and explicit! Great read for adults only!!

I love it when an author isn't afraid to tackle sensitive issues, and in Deadly Deceit, Samantha does just that.
Max is a complex character dealing with his own problems, and how he deals with them shines a light on Tom's internal struggle.
This second installment in the series contains both the pace and wit of Blood Orphan, as well as introducing new intriguing characters and deepening existing ones.
Without a doubt a 5 star read. Tom Grant is here to stay!
