Jesus said to live so that when others see your light and the good works that you do, they will praise your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). That’s a really big deal If we live out our calling to SHINE, then the God of all creation gets the praise that He is due. Once we realize our purpose in this life, then we can live with intentionality in our everyday lives, allowing everything that we do to reflect the light that was put inside of us by Jesus Himself.
Within every geographical location as well as every generation there exist divine opportunities to point others to God Just as the beautiful and young Queen Esther was told by her wise uncle when she was faced with a life-or- death situation,
Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this (Esther 4:14 CSB).
Esther did not run from the situation but instead rose to the challenge and was able to shine.

Jesus Is the Light
Her daughter sat at the kitchen counter while she was cooking dinner and exclaimed, “Mom, did you know that the sun and moon were created on the fourth day?”
She made a huffing noise and said, “No, honey Light was created on the first day Look it up”
“I did, Mom, and it says that light was created on the first day but the sun and moon didn’t show up until later Isn’t that cool?”
She put her spoon down and risked burning dinner to see if what her daughter was saying was true She quickly flipped to Genesis 1 and, lo and behold, it was true!
The creation of the seas, trees, vegetation, etc , occurred before the sun or moon showed up! How could that be? God explains why in the Gospel of John:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made (John 1:1–3 NIV).
Jesus is the light and Jesus was there at creation. There is no life for mankind without the light! There is no light without the life of Jesus! The sheer fact that we have life running through our bodies testifies that light has entered the world.
When we begin to view Jesus as our Creator and our life-sustainer, it becomes a game changer for us. Our relationship with Him is not just optional, it is necessary as our source of life. It’s then that we understand that the light inside us comes from our salvation in Jesus Christ Without Him, there is no light to shine.
Friend, have you allowed His light to come into your life? You were created with a purpose, and Jesus would love nothing more than for you to give your life to Him Today is a great day to start shining!
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for Your life-giving Light. Just like the moon reflects the sun, we want to reflect Your light.
