4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 4 ratings

There's a thief afoot, stealing the guardian artifacts of the mystic races – The seven sins.
As one of the last Seers, Nathan Masterson is struggling to fit into his new role as an Organization Detective. He and his Partner Leigh Vashti are charged with recovering the the sins and apprehending the culprit, while at the same time pursuing a potential lead into the genocide of the Seer Clan. Along with a new partner who has a bad attitude and a mysterious ability to back it up, they're on the case. But something's amiss, and the culprit may hit closer to home than either of the detectives may think. All sides are in opposition, but there's definitely something that even the blind can see. Sometimes the truth is more cruel than we bargain for, especially when you can't see it coming. Death plots in the shadows.

Patrick has done it again. Sight is a page turner. I could never guess what was coming up next and I couldn't put the book down once I began reading. Following Nathan and Leigh on their journey to find the sins, you never know where they'll go and what they'll uncover. Each chapter is a new adventure and the way the verse flows makes reading go so smoothly.. The ending once again leaves you longing for the next novel in the series. I look forward to reading more!

3.75/5 stars

Once again, Patrick Kaiser takes us back into the Death-Bringer Chronicles, introducing us to more magic than we can imagine. This time, I picked up this book as an audiobook, and I will be the first to admit that these verse thrillers are AMAZING in audio form. They capture the right beat, and with the right voice, they really shine!

We really do get to explore more of Nathan's demons in this book - from how Jack's death haunts him, to his relationship with his partner Leigh. The beats of the verse novel shine in his altercations with Death as well. In all honesty, it's beautifully done - by both the author and the narrator.

The only reason I knock the story down by 0.25 is due to the ending. I personally am not a big fan of endings where the character wakes up from a coma or injury and then proceeds to get on their feet as if nothing happened. To me it seems a little unrealistic, and I had a hard time suspending disbelief in that moment.

But overall, Patrick Kaiser does a fantastic job captivating his audience with his verse novels...and I can't wait to see where he takes it next!

The second installment to Patrick D. Kaiser’s fairytale retelling. It’s a rollercoaster of a ride so pay attention and hang on tight! Witty banter between the characters made me giggle the whole way through.
